Those 2 haven't beaten anyone to be classed as number 1. Martinez has beaten Pavlik, Williams, Dzindriuk, Barker, Macklin and Chavez Jr.

GGG has beaten Proska who was lower level top 10 in his biggest victory, Pirog was against Jacobs who isn't even in the top 10 and done ****.

In fact they aren't even clear number 2's that belongs to Geale.

Perhaps you can make a case for GGG being number 3, but you can also make a strong case for Strum, Jr, Macklin, and whoever wins between N'Jikam and Quillin.

You do realise you are literally the only person in captivity who doesn't see Martinez as the clear number 1. I'll tell you what find me a respected boxing website or publication that has divisional rankings that doesn't have Martinez as number 1 and I will agree with you.

Pavlik is a Super Middleweight and has been for quite sometime. I'd be shocked if he ever thought at Middleweight again.

True there's decen star power there I just think if you compare the champions other than Mayweather to Donaire, Rigondeaux, Nishioka and Mares, in a pound for pound sense hey are better than Canelo, Bundrage and Trout and the supporting cast at 154 is also stronger.

The only issue is that many of the names there have either moved up already or will shortly be moving up to 147

I didnt say that GGG or Pirog are the number 1 or 2 or whatever at 160.

I am saying that there is no clear number 1 in that Division.

There is: Martinez. Other than Super Middleweight he's probably the clearest divisional leader in the sport. You do realise you are literally the only person who can't see that. To be the clear number 1 in the division, it doesn't mean you have to beat everybody of they haven't earned such status. Andre Ward hasn't beaten Thomas Oosthuzien, George Groves and Edwin Rodriguez. Would you say he's not the clear number 1 until he's beaten them.

Well Ward has beaten all of the current Beltholders in a lopsided way. So yeah he is absolutely the number one at SMW.

Like i said there is imo no clear number one at 160. Daniel Geale beat two reigning champions back to back in their hometowns. GGG destroyed currently a TOP10 guy and would be a stylistic nightmare for Sergio.

I would still favour Martinez against all of them, but as long as he doesn´t fight and beat them he is not the clear 1 at MW.

Geale had a close fight with Strum (which I scored for Strum), who won by robbery against Macklin, who Martinez beat by KO.

And don't go on about this fighting belt holders garbage, they gave the belt to Chavez Jr, they hold no weight. Bernard Hopkins was the clear MW champ, he lost his title to Jermaine Taylor, who lost his title to Kelly Pavlik, who lost to Martinez. Who since has beaten much stronger competiton than anyone else at MW. I agree he hasn't cleaned up the division yet but he is by far the clear number 1.

Golovkin beat one lower end top 10 guy at best who was 2 fights removed from losing to a journyman with one KO.

If he's not the clear number 1 then why does everybody except you rate him as the clear number 1?

  14. 147 maybe

u got pacquiao, mayweather, marquez, ortiz, berto, bradley, guerrero and others. 154 is deep too.

The Only things is it's Pacquiao, Mayweather then the rest. (Marquez is a 140 pounder and Bradley was beaten in convincing fashion by Pacquiao, others you mentioned- not in the same league)
