I'd love to see him face Lemieux or Jacobs, but most likely after Ggg, win or lose, they'd probably throw Stevens or Rosado in there with him.

He has a good chin. The problem is with his balls and heart!

So far Canelo chin has looked solid.

i had originally intended to jump on this thread and post the correct answer, :) but i see others have beat me to it, so instead, i'll just summarise the correct answer, giving credit where credit is due

Canelo Alvarez' chin is comprized of the following:
    • ginger biscuits
    • unobtanium
    notes:

unotanium is a substance previously only found in Oakley sunglasses; no idea how it got in Canelo's chin or whether it exists in any other fighter's chin

the answer Oscar's balls, is of course, technically correct, but i think the OP's question was limited to what Canelo's chin is made out of while in the ring

Canelo's chin is pretty good. Credit where it's due.

His chin looks pretty sturdy, the problem lay somewhere else.

yep--this is the only plausible answer based on all of the evidence. (and which needs to be given at least once on this thread otherwise, we've degenerated to the level of that other forum)

personally, i'm not a Canelo fan; i've seen maybe six or seven of his fights, but even setting aside his resume and the fight videos posted on this thread, just a glance at Canelo's profile strongly suggests a fighter with some stiff whiskers:
    • he fights more or less flat footed
    • height (~ 70'', short even for a SWW); and
    • short reach ( ~ 70'')
    • big frame (eg, in the Khan fight, both weighed in the same--155 lb catch weight--but Canelo looked enormous in the ring compared to Khan though they are the same height; Khan said after the fight that he Canelo must have weighed around 180 lbs)
    • 48-1-1

that said, what about his chin against the MW elite?

as far as i'm aware, and despite having been a WBC MW champion (but quickly stripped, because as well all know "Mexican's don't **** around") the Julio Caesar Chavez, Jr will be his first ever at 160+

even Canelo's fight in late 2015 against Cotto in which he won Cotto's WBC MW belt, was fought at 155; Cotto himself was no MW, at least not that night because at weigh-in he was even a couple of pounds below the contractual catch-weight.

after that, Canelo fought again at 155 (Khan) and then at SWW against Liam Smith, which was his last fight.

With his frame, you'd think he'd have a pretty good chin,
(short, sturdy, stocky, muscular neck and upper back,)
I only remember miguel's brother really stinging him,
can't recall any other times. He's been in with some good
punchers and have taken their shots. Golovkin's power and
the bigger hitters at 160 are different animals though.

Interesting. Robert Garcia's father thinks Team Canelo is hiding something about Canelo.
