What is everyone's true opinion of Floyd Mayweather Jr?

a fighter who has not reached his potential. He could probably beat Pacman and Margarito and Cotto and all the top guys but he does not take on the challenges. He would rather fight lesser guys and win and say he is the best. Having potential to beat guys is still not the same as beating them.

 

This is how I see it. In the ring he is great, and a class above the rest. Mayweather does not have the chin issues that Roy Jones had. He can be backed up on the ropes, so in theory a swarming attacker with a good chin can defeat him, but outside of that he's very hard to hit. I think Floyd beats Manny. We may never find out. Out of the ring, Mayweather has no class.

 

First and foremost, he is an exceptionally talented fighter. As for his personality (ignoring the fact that I think most of the trash talk and Money persona is just an act), he is extremely annoying at times, like the whole not fighting Pacquiao thing, but I actually quite like him. He's one of my 10 favorite active boxers I'd say.

Also, I have no problem with what he did against Ortiz. He was intentionally headbutted and his retaliation was well within the rules.

 

Talks a good fight...won't fight Manny P...punk...nuff said...

I'm very sure he beats Manny, I'm willing to go on record again on that definitely. Not that I want him to, I'm just very confident he will..................if those two ****ing ****s will ever get in the ring together

I'm not convinced that drug testing is what really is holding this fight up.

Maybe at first when it fell apart, but now I think it's more of the fact that both sides can make really good money fighting much lesser risks like the Ortizs, Khans, and old Mosleys of the world.
