Good way to answer the question without too much effort.

actually by your standards it wouldnt be fair

Cotto comes in at 160 at fight night, floyd comes in at like 150

I don't think he was really in it for the WW title moreso a meaningful and mega fight! Otherwise Cotto at this point is not seen as the true WW King...Shane is. But the catch weight is fair considering that PAC is by far smaller and Cotto is by far bigger. Especially on fight night when weight REALLY matters. Throwing the WBO title at 147 is Cotto's way of saying its a title fight...one for P4P and one for the WW title.

Not at all...>Floyd doesn't balloon up in between fights like Cotto does. Floyd is natraully a WW who stays right around his weight clase ala Nard when he was a MW kingpin. Over all the build of the 4 fighters and size are similar between JMM and PAC and with Floyd and Cotto. But I see your angle.

but cotto does balloon up between fights, and mayweather dosent, so it wouldnt really be a fair comparison to put at guy whos 150 against a guy whos 160 on fight night would it? cotto- mayweather is unfair by your standards.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. The p4p title is never on the line. Can you name the last time that a guy became p4p #1 by beating the p4p #1 guy?

No...b/c no two men or professional fighters are alike. They live different lives and have different habits, good or bad. As men and as professionals they CHOOSE what weight classes they fight in. And if they make that choice then you live and die by that choice as a man. Nard was almost ALWYS the lighter fighter at 160 when he faught at that weight but he carried that weight very well and was not only solid but proven at that weight. Cotto was solid and proven at 140 and now at 147 even though he struggles making weight. He's a man and he chooses his weight class and with whom he fights. Live and die by your decisions as a man.

It's not on the line the way you are thinking but in terms of what is at stake and what the benifits are are HUGE. Cotto beating PAC would be massive, he'll be boosted up on everyone's P4P list, Get him BIGGER paydays, give him more options and the potential......Should he continue winning, grab the P4P crown from whoever will be holding it at that time. With out PAC he doesn't have a chance to be P4P king. The path that Cotto needs to take is through PAC. PAC's P4P title is on the line with or without him agreeing to it which is fact. If he looses , PAC is no longer the P4P king. Floyd takes that spot and Cotto comes in 2nd or 3rd at the worst.
