if JrWW was still his class, wouldn't he be fighting JMM at JrWW instead of making him move up 2 divisions. Wouldn't he have fought Hatton at JrWW where he was undisputed champion, instead of making Hatton move out of his comfort zone?

Mayweather is one of the few fighters that dont drain themselves. I think thats what makes him so successful.

Even now, 2009, & given the fact Floyd stays in shape, I think he could make 140olbs without much difficulty at all. Floyd is 5'8 & is not as stocky or thick-set as someone like Cotto for example!

I'm going to Floyd's open workout on Friday in London & I bet he's on or only a few lbs over the stipulated contract for the fight, which I think is 144lbs!

Even this far out from the fight, Floyd is probably lighter than Marquez!

He moved up to '47 and finally '54 simply to track down Oscar. I don't think his frame ever really "outgrew" 140, he just quit making weight and lifted to put on mass.

He's no more a true WW than Paul Williams is a true MW.

I would reckon Floyd could make 140lbs if he wanted to dry out some on the day of the weigh-in. He weighs in the day of the fight around 147lbs for his Welterweight fights, suggesting he could come down a bit, if not all the way to 140lbs if he wanted to put his body through that, which he doesn't need to since he is successful at 147lbs anyhow.

Mayweather is basically a strong light-welter not to say a very strong lightweight. You don't spend 10 title defenses at 130 pounds and then after a couple of fights at LWT, two or three more at 140 and then make a wild appearance at 147, 154, you're automatically a genuine welter, BS! That doesn't mean nothing these days since technical mastery and strategical wisdom win it for you like Mayweather and Pacquiao have proven, but they're not 147 pounders. Manny is at most a very well conditioned and strong 135 pounder and that's it!

I may get a lot of **** for this but u think the die hard Mayweather fans on ESB have voted for 140lb just so it makes the JMM fight seem ok? :think

Height is a factor but it's less important than body type.

I took 140...I think if he tried he could make 140..If he comes in around 142for his fight with Marquez when the limit is 143 I mos def think he'd make 140 comfortably!

Hatton challenged Floyd..Floyd didn't MAKE Hatton do anything but back up what he said after the Castillo fight...Floyd was the already at 147 when Hatton called him out...Regardless of ne thing Hatton was the 1 who called for the fight and he got it...Floyd didn't call to fight Hatton n if Floyd did than he should have moved to 140 but that wasn't the case...
