what is he talking about? I think it's common knowledge these comments about his youth are just bollocks.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------
"The home that I come from, I had a father who was a hustler and a mother who was on drugs. That's one of the reasons I had to fight," Mayweather told Sky Sports News.
"I had to quit school so my family could be in a better position, I had to be the man in my home at the age of 16.
"Every day I have a flashback going back to my street life, because it'll never leave me.
"My friends hustling on the block, shootings, hearing guns was normal, if you didn't hear a gun during the week you'd wonder what was going on.
"My friend got killed, my friend got stabbed, there was all sorts of crazy stuff.
"Going through what I've been through, my father being shot in front of me, my mother being on drugs, living with seven people in one bedroom, my grandmother struggling, being in a drug infected neighbourhood. Walking to the gym in four feet of snow, doing just whatever it took to make it to the top."
Mayweather has endured a rocky relationship with his father, Floyd Mayweather Sr, who did train him for one fight before returning to the guidance of his uncle Roger.
"My father come over and he's a got a certain look on his face like he's envious of me. And it's shame when a person is jealous of one of their own children.
"I know, the eyes don't lie. But I'm happy with my uncle Rog, that's my dude, through thick and thin."
Mayweather does, though, have a close relationship with his mother, who he says is the only woman he needs in his life.
"My mother, I can remember when I was a kid we had no Christmas, she had to go out and steal stuff for us.
"I got her a wedding ring on her right hand because she don't have no husband, I am her husband, and that's my wife.
"I don't need to be going out there and getting married, to fight your whole life just for some woman to get all of your money.
"When it's all said and done my wife is my mother, that's my sweetheart and that's my baby."
Mayweather is a controversial figure, especially in the run-up to big fights, but there is obviously some calculation behind it all, as he looks to amass a huge fortune from the sport of boxing.
"I am controversy and controversy sells," he added.
"I'm the face of boxing, have you noticed that when De la Hoya faced all those other guys, he didn't get what he got when he faced me, with me he made his biggest payday.
"Zab Judah made his biggest payday with me, Baldomir had his biggest payday with me and the list goes on and on.
"My $4 million house is paid for, my Rolls Royce is as well, all my flashy cars are all paid for.
"Between five and 10 years I'll be a billionaire, that's my ultimate goal, or to be the first African American to have a casino, where I'm 60-70 per cent owner of the casino, something of that nature, on Las Vegas boulevard.
"No matter what obstacle they put in front of me I'm not embarrassed by anything I've been through, I'll fight through it all."

How is it common knowledge that he's lying?

I have no clue how easy or hard he had it growing up. It's basically known though that he was groomed since an infant simply to box.

He is just full of **** like normal. His own uncle Jeff (the only one with a brain for anything else other than boxing) says he is full of ****.

Just trying to keep up with fake ass fifty, thats all.

Before his next fight he will probably say he got shot 9 times.

Well, look at Floyd Sr. and Roger.

The Mayweather clan is dysfunction at its finest.

  6. Yap-Yap-Yap, YAAAAAAWWWWNNN..:rofl Whatever he's a legend in his own mind, i just hope Hatton drills a hole in his ribs so he won't run around the ring like a chicken, and play pitty-pat like he did against Oscar...

Jeff seems so out of place in that family.

    He seems.....normal and decent.

His Uncle Jeff Mayweather dismissed ALL THIS HORSE****.

Floyds delusional, Raised by his grandmother and father til he went away and they made Floyd box and train. You caneven look at 24/7 footage from the DLH fights and remember the family/sister comments on his upbringing.

Floyd had a strict but plush environment. He isnt a street hustler or thug no matter how many rap songs, video's, lies, and times he's around 50 Cent.

He wants to be that, so its the stories he now trys to convey:good

The guy is a total muppet, he's embarrasing every time he opens his mouth.
I'm no Hatton fan but am rooting for him massively to smash 'tough ghetto kid Mayweather'

Really, I was just trying to bait someone to say "he's rich because he came from a fighting family" because people have said that before, and that's one of the stupidiest things I've heard.

I don't really know, or care, about how easy or hard Floyd grew up.

And its just as stupid when his fans claim he is from the ghetto or had a rough background because he is from a fighting family.

I think the guy has had some difficult times, I dont dispute that. His family looks like a mess. But when he comes with all of this raised in the ghetto nonsense he looks like a fool. Were not talking about Edison Miranda here folks.

    Who claims that?

Anyway, I used to be against the whole "father trains son" thing. It started because there was a local small fight in San Jose, where the guy refused to quit because his father was in the corner and didn't want to quit in front of his father. The guy ended up dying.

In the past few years though, I'm beginning to think differently about it. Mosley, Trinidad, Mayweather, etc....I also think the beef with Floyd Sr. and Floyd. Jr was exaggerated in the media to try to pull one on Oscar.

They claimed they never spoke for years. Either Jeff or Roger said, "what, they talk all the time!"

I'd imagine most of the board had a tougher upbringing that Floyd Mayweather......the fact he acts like a spoilt brat and cries at the drop of a hat (when Larry Merchant confronted him) hardly fits in with the street urchin thing now does it
he's a total ****, hopefully Wicky knocks his **** in.
