Nothing of that sort has been agreed upon. As a matter of fact, there is no agreement yet signed or agreed in principle.
What are weight classes for? I thought they were for people of the same size to fight each other without a huge size advantage. if a guy is to big at his NATURAL weight division then find somebody in your OWN division to fight. If you want to truly move up to a division then you should be ready to fight without all the stipulations on weight. look through out boxing history little guys took on big guys all the time and won. Michael Spinks gave away 20 lbs to Larry Holmes in both their fights BUT that didn't stop him from winning. That's just one example, it can be and has been done!!!
In all honesty, right now I think Roach is very careful of who he puts Pac in against in addition to at what weight. He wants a fight he feels good about winning, otherwise, I don't think he will put his fighter's current run on the line. I think he is aiming to keep Pacquiao winning in order to get the biggest money fights. That means he will try to negate any size disadvantages that Pacquiao has by having guys meet him half way south, if they want to fight him.
A lot of people are pissed because if Pac wins at a catchweight then he'd get no props because of the weight drain. But the thing is, if Cotto wins at 147, people will say that Cotto won because of the size difference (heck a lot of people are already saying it now, Cotto is too big for Pac). From a fan's perspective, the ideal catchweight gives both fighters a chance to get props. The catchweight sort of negates the size advantage of Cotto because he won't be 100% at a catchweight, but he will still probably be 158-160 on fight night. So he will still be more massive than Pac. Pac gives up a size advantage, Cotto gives up probably a bit of a speed and endurance advantage. They both give up some advantage and hopefully create an even playing field. That's the whole point of the catchweight. That was the point of having catchweights before, that's the point now. Why the hell are people overreacting now?
