IMO the only top 50 ATG he beat was Tim Witherspoon, and he didn't do it in any kind of fashion.

Sounds like another take a hit at Gołota thread.

    Very original, Jazzo.

The case of Golota is well known and been thoroughly covered on this forum, and you are surely well aware of all the points made on the topic of this troubled fighter.

Call it what you want, he was a head case, but before beating himself, or before he got robbed by judges, he beat Bowe x2 in brutal fashion, Ruiz, Byrd, Grant.

    Great talent, but a headcase.

His biggest and toughest enemy he ever fought in the ring, was himself. :deal

    Nice try.

Golota is always an interesting topic. Truth be told, he had two impressive performances where he did not self-destruct, but was robbed by the judges both times instead, and both were title bouts (Byrd and Ruiz).
    such a shame.

I loved Golotas style. If he only had a clean head he'd be a great white champ.

Golota doesnt have any great wins from technical standpoint. He has some good wins in Whiterspoon, Norris, Sanders, Mcbride, Mollo few others.

But if you look at him from the eyes of someone who knows boxing then you know that he demolished Riddick Bowe when they were both in their primes or close to their primes. He got a controversial draw against Chris Byrd in a fight that could have gone either way but in most people eyes Golota did more to win. He also lost to Ruiz in a fight that he should have won. In both of those fights the HW titles were on the line, so if he wasnt so unlucky he would have been not only a HW champion of the world but a unified HW champion of the world.

In any case just watched a fight between Damian Jonak and Santa Cruz and it was an action packed fight, recommend to watch it. It was a pleasure watching it after watching Vitali Briggs.

Riddick Bowe was definitely NOT prime. He looked a shadow of the Bowe that beat Holy.

You dont go from being prime to being shot in few months. In the first Golota fight he was maybe slightly past his prime. Golota ended his career in those 2 fights. Besides, prime or not prime, if you judge Golota from the technical standpoint he was supperb in those fights, combinations, power, jab, defense, foot work.

GOlota's best wins are all marked as losses, 2 legitimately and 2 illegitimately. the two dq's vs. bower and the two robberies against ruiz and byrd.
