Is he going to be Hrgovic, Jr and stay away from the fray until he's 50? He's rated 52nd by boxrec. My guess is that he could beat quite a few in the top 20. But will we ever see it?
i think he beats anyone not named joshua usyk at the moment parker zhang hrgovic being 50/50 fights atm.. and fury well ngannu beat him soo i need to see him again first lol.
I heard he was going back to the Olympics. He's deeply unserious about a pro career, and probably would have promotional problems just like all the central Asians, so maybe staying a semi-pro is his level.
I thought since he signed the top rank he is being more active? He is easily a top 10 he and would ko joshua
He has said repeatedly that he is not coming back to the Urkel character and that it was played out immediately after he did Urkel Bruce Lee.
He's about to have his 15th fight against a total unknown in almost 6 years as a pro which lets be honest is unacceptable. I question his desire, if I am being honest, not sure he really cares about the pro game as a career. If he doesn't step up after the Olympics and he starts 2025 16-0 and still not having fought anything other than a journeymen in his 7th year as a pro, it's pretty much certain we can forget about him ever reaching his full potential as a professional boxer. So yeah currently he's on the Hrgovic path, but to be fair to Hrgovic he's shown more desire to be a pro than Jalolov ever has. He had fought Zhang already and so was a mandatory for a title shot in the same time frame that Jalolov is still fighting journeymen. Not sure I have ever seen an Olympic gold medallist have such a slow and forgettable start to their pro career.
He is already 2 time World Champion and wants to become 2 time Olympic Champion, this coming August. So his pro career is put aside after his april bout. Might return next november
He's being Arum-ed, like so many before him: Mekhontsev, Korobov, etc. Arum signs talented East European/Central Asian boxers, then ruins them with inactivity, low pay and meaningless opposition.
If he was in some meaningful pro fights with decent pay, he probably wouldn't want to participate in another Olympics.
Well, he *definitely* won't get them while he's still hanging out in the amateurs. I'm not a TR supporter, just don't think you can blame Arum without digging more deeply. A lot of the non-TRs from the area of the world also struggle with promotional issues. It isn't just Arum.
Doesn't make sense for the big shots to fight him. High risk for anybody in the division but zero name recognition to go with it. At the same time I don't see him calling anyone out. Maybe he doesn't want the smoke either.
