I know that some will think it funny, but Green isnt worth the risk at this point. Green was weight drained and sick going into the fight with Maranda, and almost finished him early. Green is big, bigger then anyone Kessler has fought and really to dangerous because his stock is really low right now. I really think that would be a 50/50 fight, problem is people think that Green is a bum so a win wont do Kessler any good in the minds of many. I think that it would be his best win should he fight and beat Green, but I may be one of the very few.
Does he have to prove himself against Lacy, Miranda? come on! and now Dawson!!!!!!!!!!!!! If Kessler should mowe up in weight, Hopkins is the only name for him. But I agree with you he should proove himself in SMW. against Taylor, Bute & froch.
It shows alittle about his interworkings...No one or I should say very few thought that Miranda would beat Kessler yet he punked out, he also punked out of a fight with Lacy. Would Kessler have won both those fights?? I think so, but they represented something that I have noticed is missing on Kesslers resume....BIG time power..Kessler is yet to fight guy with power, Im starting to wonder why, maybe his people know that he is abit chinny and are tring to drive his career around those kinds of fighters.. Another thing that I find funny about Kessler fans is they have no problem with kessler going after smaller guys, guys that have had a few fights or one fight at smw but seem to detest the thought of him fighting bigger fighters that arent 40+ years old...funny:huh
I really cant understand the hatred against Kessler, we have a class act guy, near to perfecth in boxing. I dont know how far he can take it, but he allways go after the biggest challenge. his last 2 fights was forced to him if he wanted the WBA belt, bc. of that he's a coward, I just dont get it?
It is not complicated to understand. It is mostly his passport that is the problem for some posters. And actually also for the US media. They would be all over him 8 years ago if he was American. And not because they try to get him slaughtered against bigger guys while keeping him away from the Americans they have vested money in - but rather they would have vested money in him and everything he today has had to fight for would have come far easier and he would have gotten the fights he wanted. For example would he not have gone to Wales - Joe would have come to the US and who knows the result may have been different. Especially with better trainers etc. So, yeah - at the end of the day - the passport has been and is a huge problem. We are unfortunately all missing out because of that. Kessler has said that he will only fight a couple of years more (he has had many injuries and is not training as smartly as Joe is frankly... Joe does a lot of low-impact cardio-based training, while Kessler tends to do a lot of high-impact training such as tough sparring for many many rounds). So yeah - in the end we are all losing out because of this nationalism.
Lacy called him out???? .....like when Miranda...pls not this again (New on ESB???) Dawson .... Ohh yeah here you might have something....I just think Mikkel and Team Palle just wants to get a foot inside the US, before this fight will happen. My guess is 2-3 fights and then Kessler will be ready for Dawson :bbb And in all respect the fight will make more sense then ...
I don't think there are reasons to believe Kessler is ´a bit chinny´. Remember, he did get caught pretty badly against Sartison but recovered almost immediately. As for avoiding big punchers, it a risk-reward issue as always, while noting there are not many around. Personally, I don't think a big puncher is going to cause Kess problems other than the usual lucky punch. Rather, what can cause Kessler problems are fast and versatile opponents like Calzaghe. Whether it was Kessler´s or Miranda´s camp that "chicken´ed" out, I don't know. After watching Miranda getting levelled by Abraham though, I'm happy Kessler didn't get the fight. There isn't much won on any account beating Miranda, really!
Yeah the american 168 pounders(all 2 of them) are afraid of him but he's afraid of an american 175 pounder and a columbian 168 pounder.:hi:
Nah.. Nothing to do with 'ready for'. Kessler is more than ready if that was the thing. The thing is that Kessler wants to unify like Hopkins, Calzaghe and many others have done before him. He wants to be undisputed at SMW. Hopkins nor Calzaghe went up before they were undisputed. Only journey men like Epinoza Merendez (or whatever Lacys last opp.'s name is) goes up and down as others see fit. Kessler will do this old school and try to clean out SMW. This will take at least two years. Thereafter he may retire or move up. He has said he will retire early because of all his injuries, so we will see. If Dawson (the Ring #3) really wants the fight against Kessler (the Ring #1) then he can come to 168, and they will surely fight sooner.
And probably a couple of 190 and 210 pounders as well now that you are at it. At 168 Kessler has called them out. They have kept quiet under the table. That is a fact.:deal
You might think that Kessler was at fault for the Miranda fight not happening (Kessler withdrew from the original negotiations to instead challenge Mundine foe the WBA title, which he obviously considered a better option). It would be bizzare to consider Kessler scared of Miranda considering that, when Mundine vacated instead of fight Kessler, Kessler went back to Miranda and offered him the fight for the vacant title. Or are we just ignoring facts again?
do you mean jeff left hook lacy, whom kessler wrote a letter to, and said he would be delighted to fight, ive never heard of a fighter calling out anyone like that? this letter was written before lacy fought joe, kessler wanted to unify.. but lacy took on joe instead.. and kessler has continued to try to unify.. but hey perhaps next time, you should consider getting your facts straight, before trying to publish, your words of wisdom:yep
