They're both lifelong gym rats, young for their age, refuse to take any risks that they don't have to, are style-spoilers, widely-reviled, etc., etc... maybe Floyd needs a prison sentence to make the comparison easier. I dunno. I hate dirty tactics and yet, when Nard steps on somebody's foot to make a punch reaction look bigger when the foot is yanked away or does a right hand/head lead or what have you... I find myself enjoying just how good he is at dirty tactics without being illegal or trying to ruin the opponent for life.
rabbit punches head butts holding down the head while throwing uppercuts those three things can't hurt an opponent :huh
Of course they hurt! That's pretty much the whole point in this sport, right? I think there's a difference between deliberately holding-n-hitting with intent to harm and deliberately smashing a guy's head into a ringpost with intent to cripple. They're both illegal, but one's to win a fight and the other's to destroy a career.
There was a good 7,000 on hand. Which is a lot more than I thought. it is Hopkins he isn't an exciting fighter, and I don't mean to be Emanuel Steward, but this fight went exactly as I thought it would go. Hopkins though is a legend and the best Middleweight in his era. He is an old school type fighter and I admire his skills. Except, for the headbutts, elbows, etc.
