What is it that Khan lacks that stops him from being elite?

Khans problem is hes more in love with the money and being a star than he is with his craft.

Khan has such amateur skills. He just wings those punches so wildly and gets no leverage on them because they are all arm punches - it's why he couldn't leave a mark on devons face besides landing flush every round.

HE has to be matched very carefully. Broner is a good start, followed by brook in an english money fight for the title.

 

Khan should have fought a top 10 WW before December 2014 in order to be remotely relevant as an opponent for any of the top WW's. Now he has done that. Before he had not.

 

There is NO variety to his style and/or skill-set. His lone skill is Speed and his lone style is moving forward. Can't fight on the inside, not a counter-puncher, no defense, can't fight moving backwards and his stamina is shot after 6 rounds. Then you add a glass chin with an awful ring IQ, his career will end badly with several bad KO losses.

 

Put him in against a guy like Thurman or Porter and watch him get shattered again.

The left hook is his Achilles heel. He has trouble seeing it coming for some reason...maybe because he think he can block it with his chin instead of his hands.

 

I'm not who said it, but I heard someone on this forum saying Khan's chin is "criminally underrated". That person would have to be either an idiot or blind.

 

If he had said "Khan's chin is great," then yes I'd agree with you.

But "criminally underrated" is only relative to what the majority vocally express. So that actually is a defensible statement.

so much hate for khan, I personally would love to see him become the best after Floyd and Manny just to see the ****storm it would cause on ESB.
