First, don't take this personally. Boxing aint a big man's sport. But I got a little info about myself.

I box for fun. Had a trainer for a good five months. Sparred. Never started official armature career, but I have fought about 10 times with no head gear. Fought one 6ft 10 guy (claimed to be 7ft). Fought one 100lb guy.

Not fought in 2 years. Still go to a boxing gym and train/hang out. Sometimes get in the ring. Help guy’s out with diet. Even help some with my knowledge in other aspects of the sport such as when to go to the doctor. Some of these guys would not go to the doctor if they broke their neck. They would try to walk it off. Anyway:

Here is the thing. Small guys always want to challenge you if you are large. I never take a fight I have no chance in, so if someone has been boxing for 10 years and wants to fight an exhibition match, I won’t do it. I tell them straight up that I do not fight matches I believe I have no chance in. Yet, they so desperately want it. They beg and beg and beg. Recently I said, "Fine, but anything within reason goes because I will not box you". The daft ******* who weighed in at 140lbs with no martial arts experience ran toward me and got a knee in the throat (match over). He reasoned that he would win in a boxing match.

    No ****.

Why do these guys who say "size doesn't matter" desperately want to take down big guys? The boastful ones I understand. Put any boastful **** who comes to the gym in there and break his nose and he will probably not come back. But I'm not Jazzo in real life.

So little guys, sane people know that you are not handicapped and are people too.

I think half of them just want to show off to their girl.

Any of the heavyweight noobs experience this?

  2. It goes both ways Jazzo, big man syndrome make small guys remember they're small every day.

It isn't personal, unless it is and you're being a ****.

Sparring is not supposed to be like fighting.

What do you mean about it going both ways?

    Example would help.

I have fought before like I said.

Oh, sorry, didn't see the edit.

What is the Big Man syndrome?

I only use facts with small guys. I will tell them that wrestling is not a good idea aginst a guy outweighing them by 60lbs if the guy knows what he is doing, for example.

  5. Every day bigger guys pull there big man persona to remind you of their size. Even if they are unaware of it.

Well smaller blokes love to call on that, it can be offensive for a man throw around heavy weight for its own sake and when it comes to boxing size its not the best sport to be throwing around your weight. Wrestling is differant i suppose.

It goes both ways because small man syndrome vs big man syndrome.

Big man syndrome, is a man who is over concious of their large size as opposed to a small man with the same problem.

I haven't seen many people who are so hung up on their size as you mate. This is what, the fifth or sixth time I've seen you post about this exact same subject? Seems more like heavy man syndrome than small man syndrome to be honest.

So did this guy know the rules? because a knee to the throat is a bit harsh in a boxing ring, lol. it seems like if he knew the rules he would have known not to just run in?

Its quite easy to switch this scenario really, ive met plenty of guys that think theyre bad because theyre tall. bullying people using their height to call peoples bluff, fact is there are bullys of all sorts, some will bully you with 10 years boxing experience, some with height or size, some around my area even try to bully people with 1 hour sessions a week so called ''cage fighting'' after a solid 2 week of training and some will bully you and undermine you with their intellect, or atleast try to, i find a lot of these people dont have good friends though.

Its human nature to play with the gifts weve been given.

Dude, I'm taking the **** with the size thing on the BS forums.

This was my only serious post on it.

I'm poking fun of the guys who think size is everyhting in those posts.

Oh, right. Like the guys who use synthol.

That is more of an official psych problem though.

And it can hardly be offensive. Hell, don't you feel bad for them?

    He was a moron.

He tried to take me down because he was hung up on strength.

He should have just stood and punched.

"Tyson is not big enough. Too many of you are just too hung up on your size to admit that Valuev would whip the little man, because it is a relection on yourself"

You think I'm serious with this ****?

    It is trolling.

The General Forum is ******ed, and if I made a serious, sensible post, nobody would understand.

    But that's the thing.

I always assure the experienced fighter that he will beat a big guy with little skill.

Two guys at my gym, friends, one big and one small got into a scrap outside the ring when the smaller guy thought he could take him. He ended up with two black eyes....
