So in less then one second Tua is supposed to see a fighter is done and stop his attack? In .001 of a second Tua is a bad guy for not having the reflexes of the flash? Dunce. :patsch

Why does ESB allow these trolls to post here.

People should shut up about the Tua fight. He was a skinny young kid at the time. Given the different paths their careers took, I think it's safe to say that a rematch might have gone differently too, though Tua does have a skill set that would always be a challenge for Ruiz' style.

Ruiz is, very simply, one of the worst - and most fraudulent - HW titlists of all time. He gained his belt through completely fraudulent means, through cheating rather than ability.

From the moment he was picked off the scrap heap by Don KIng after getting destroyed by Tua, his "career" was a total fraud. His connections with Don King got him title shots he didn't deserve, and "victories" he shouldn't have "won."

Once Ruiz discovered his mediocre boxing abilities wouldn't be competitive with top level fighters, he then resorted to blatantly and repeatedly violating the rules against excessive holding. And his connections with King allowed him to get away with it!

Not only this, but Ruiz's overacted when hit with borderline body shots to force bogus, and decisive, "low blow" calls in at least three fights (Thunder, Holyfield II, Johnson).

Ruiz also regularly ripped off the fans of seeing the boxing matches they PAID to see with his illegal and disgraceful tactics, and he cheated his opponents of their opportunity to win WITHIN the rules!!

John Ruiz is a disgrace to the sport of boxing. Exhibit A of the corruption that is ruining this sport. A glorified clubfighter who wouldn't have sniffed a title without Don King.

Ruiz's "career defining" moment??? Probably rolling around on the canvas faking a "low blow." Pick the fight, there's several of 'em!!

why did he get so many? It's not like he's particularly appealing to anyone. He was boring and fan-unfriendly. Why keep him around and give him gifts? No one wins in the end.

Lewis ducked Ruiz and got stripped and then Ruiz beat Holyfield for the title. Sounds like a legit way to get the title to me.

I am seeing the Ruiz held too much posts. Now, this is not for comparison of fighters, but Muhammad Ali ****ing LOVED to hold and pull necks down. No one ever talks about that ****.

Ruiz held people to wear them down. I think it's pretty simple. Also, near the end of his career much to his stupidity, he stopped doing what had worked for him. Holding and wearing people down. He practically stopped clinching in the Valuev fights (most were initiated by Valuev), the Haye fight, the Chagaev fight (a pretty decent heavyweight scrap), and even in his fights with lesser guys like Serin, McCline, and Tisdale.

I also think a rematch with Tua would have definitely favored Ruiz. Ruiz had a good jab when he felt like tossing it. I would expect him to beat a much older and slower Tua, but sadly he never got back in the ring with him.

A child beggar in the streets of the Philippines walked up to Pacquiao and asked for money, but Pacquiao just picked him up and walked away with him. The kid hasn't been seen since and the family has gone into hiding.
