McCall and Virchis are about the same on my card. If I remember correctly a few years back, Virchis had a very close match with WBA champion Ruslan Chagaev, I want to say it was a split or a majority decision lose on the cards for him, but I would have to check boxrec to make sure. I feel that says something about Virchis, though since then he hasn't really done anything to boast about.
Chagaev-Virchis wasn't as close that the official verdict (SD) would have you believe, though. For some reason, he always gets split decisions in fights that he clearly won: Ruiz, Valuev and Virchis.
Bull****, not in any shape or form came Sprott close to hurting Virchis. Gomez doesn't really have a standout win but a couple of decent wins. At Cruiserweight Dominguez, was the first to stop Jorge Castro, Pietro Aurino. At HW undefeated Sinan Samil Sam is notable, maybe McCall 2005 (Yeah, he was on cocaine, but that didn't mean ****, McCall was already much too old and slow for Gomez) and Virchis.
I seen the fight awhile back, I remember it being kinda close, but I know I had Chagaev winning in the end.
have you seen the fight? i have. i think it was at the end of the 5th or 6th, sprott caught him with a good shot, virchis was all over the place and was lucky that the round ended at that moment.
Yes, I have, otherwise I wouldn't comment. And when I say it's bull****, I mean it. Slow, ponderous guys like Virchis and Valuev get caught clean countless times but just because they take a flush shot doesn't mean they were "almost ko'ed".
