That's incorrect. That fight took place at 130 lbs. All fights at that weight must take place with 8 oz. gloves. Morales chose the brand of Pac's gloves, not the size.

Do you want the fight to happen in September instead?

If you have proof that I'm wrong, that's fine. However, I have never heard of 10 oz. gloves being allowed at 130 lbs. I also remember watching the fight and the HBO guys commenting on how Morales chose the brand of gloves.

Morales vs Pac I - 10 oz gloves due to moronic Murad Promoter agreeing. It should have been 8 oz.

i think vegas is right on this one. pac was forced to use 10 oz. at pac-em1 because murad agreed without the consent of pac's camp (resulting of team pac kicking him out). they demanded the "cleto reyes" 8 oz gloves because it was suitable for pac's style and to capitalize on his power.

  10. So from when Pac beat Cotto - everyone was expecting one of the most difficult negotiating battles in boxing history, with neither side being remotely reasonable etc, to for the large part - the fight is already done and dusted.

Neither fighter has agreed to a venue, so Pacquiao WON'T have signed. He'll have agreed in principle to the fight, like Mayweather - yet neither will have signed anything because all the details aren't finalised.

It's been less than a month since the Cotto/Pac fight - and the fact that we're this close to having this deal signed should be a GREAT thing for boxing. That people are arguing over who signs first/last, and everything else you see on these boards shows that maybe it's the fans who can be more pathetic and unreasonable than the actual fighters.

Pacquiao fans - remember how Pacquiao was acting against Hatton during negotiations - he was taking a lot of flak - so let's not pretend that Pacquiao is just a guy who fights anyone, anywhere and doesn't care about the nuances of a contract.

Both fighters want the best possible deal for themselves - unless Haye Ko's Vitali (to set up a HUGE Wlad showdown - which may or may not break this fight's record, not the issue really), this will be the biggest fight in boxing history - and for many years henceforth, so I really, really, wouldn't worry about the fact it's taken less than 30 days and neither fighter has signed.

Vegas rules state that all fights under 140 lbs. must take place using 8 oz. gloves if I'm not mistaken. The problem in that fight was that Morales picked out the brand of gloves and Pac couldn't wear Reyes gloves.
