Well I'm talking about what we'd prefer to watch. I'd rather watch him fight those guys rather than an ancient Stevenson.
Well i think we deserve to see ancient Stevenson beaten clean after he has proven he had an heart hidden all along. And further more, he still hold's the bogus corupt green belt.
Actually I would prefer him to fight Stevenson. And, also, from the other side, why would guys like Bivol fight Gvozdyk (low reward/high risk)? Beterbiev would probably fight anyone, yes, he's a monster. And Kovalev is Gvozdyk's gym buddy (they train almost together).
Well, the problem is Gvozdyk is not in his prime (as a pro boxer, not just how old he is). Or, if he is, he's significantly overestimated, unfortunately...
WBC might end up ordering a rematch between Stevenson and Jack. Gvozdyk is likely going to face a no name on ESPN, unless uncle Bob can work some of his magic.
I don't think Kovalev and Bivol are too keen - it's very high risk and low reward since Gvozdyk has no title. Also, Kovalev and Gvozdyk are friends and don't want to fight each other unless they have to. Beterbiev is in promotional limbo so not really an option, I believe he also wants to unify with Kovalev or Bivol when he's clear again. I could see this one happening at some point if both continue to find it hard to get fights, but not right away.
Nope, and he's the current interim WBC champion, so that's the fight he should be able to enforce now. Although I expect Sulaiman to come up with a "solution that benefits Stevens... err... both" Shouldn't that have been resolved last week? Heard nothing about the court's decision.
Gvozdyk should retire the old pimp. But Al Haymon will continue to protect him with his buddy Sulaiman. Badou Jack had a shot only because he was a Mayweather boxer. I'd like to see Jack vs Bivol next.
The hearing is finished but, as usual, it takes a while before the court's decision is announced. I think it should be in the next 2-3 weeks or so.
Several days ago at a press conference in Ukraine Gvozdyk said that he had received a letter from the WBC (he said "from Mauricio Sulaiman") where they said that Stevenson should fight Gvozdyk next. Not a word about the possible rematch petition, though, unfortunately — the journalist didn't asked about it.
