Okay, PBF has the best reflexes and the best defensive style. But is he really P4P#1? Who has he fought that has proved that he is the best in this Era? Is P4P based on soley skill, or is it based on proving yourself by beating the best? Or is it both combined? You have Mayweather who doesn't often show GREAT Offensive skills but his talent in unquestionable. Then you have Pac who has avergae skills but his natural talent and freakishness has helped him overcome those barriers and he has fought most top guy. Who deserves the #1 spot P4P, or is P4P the biggest hoax to come out of boxing?
Its never been based on resumes ..Its the fighter who has all the intangibles while moving up in weight while continuing to be successful..Now a days a fighter wins his first high profile fight and he's already ranked p4p ??:huh
Yeah cause fighting Judah,Baldomir the previous 2 Linear Welterweight Champions,ODLH and the 140 pound Champ Hatton is sooooooo bad.
of course he's #1. Do you understand that any other fighter would've stayed at lightweight? He could still make lightweight, but challenged himself all the way up to 154. Thats what a p4p great does...a p4p great is someone who is so good that he can be outweighed and outsized by opponents and still perform greatly. In 2005 he moved up to 140 lbs. The champions were: 135- Corrales (lost to mayweather TKO 10) 140- Hatton (lost to Mayweather TKO 10) 147- Judah (lost to Mayweather UD12) thats called fighting the best bitches...spin it all you want just b/c you hate his personality. His resume speaks for itself.
yeah, i mean, everybody has done that. I LOVE Cotto, the next great boricua champion, but he has yet to win ONE real championship.
for me p4p is all about the best fighter for his weight. Is Floyd a better welterweight than Calzaghe is a lightheavyweight? yes. Is Floyd a better welterweight than PAcquiao is a jr. lightweight? yes. Is Floyd a better welterweight than Cotto? yes. Is JMM a better Jr. lightweight than Calzaghe is a LHW? no. The resume is a tool that i use to judge who is better, but you can't just base yourself on the resume, you have to judge the fights as well. 1. PBF 2. Pac 3. Calzaghe 4. Cotto 5. JMM
PBF constantly trains so he doesnt blow up like most fighters, thus his natural weight really is 147. He'd struggle to make 140 and definetely cant make 135. Sure Hatton was 140 champ but he didnt beat Hatton at 140, he beat Hatton at 147 and many here think so did Collazo.
He definitely can. He walks into fights at 150. Pac walks into fights at 144! He can easily lose 15 lbs of mostly water-weight and go to lightweight.
how on earth are you going into paragraphs about it. but i feel it's very biased and can bring attention to people who dont deserve it or vica versa.
p4p is plain bull****. you might consider floyd as the best boxer in the world but he is not supposed to be #1. #1 is supposed to be vacant
To me, p4p is a way to compare fighter, along composite lines (skillset, resume etc etc) regardless of weight.
