Many great fighters have a signature skill or trait that they are known for. Like Ali is known for his speed. Duran is known for his skill and aggression. Ray Leonard is known for his versatility. Whitaker is known for his defense. Joe Louis is known for his punching. Arguello is known for his precision and timing.

What is Pacquiao known for in the ring? Is it his ability to fight much bigger men and not get overwhelmed?

Yea I think of those too especially at the higher weights. At the lower weights it's that hands of stone straight left that stands out.

I was just thinking back to his first fight with Erik Morales and the commentator kept going on about a plan Freddie Roach and Manny Pacquiao came up with to deal with Morales. It was called Manila Ice. It didn't work out the best that night.

It used to be speed, and for a while he was known for power. But at welterweight he didn't have the same power as at bantamweight, and now as an old man he doesn't have the same speed.

He also used to be a volume puncher. He'd be fifteen or twenty punches above the norm for his division per round. I think he threw 1500 punches against Clottey. Over 100 a round. Now, he does half as many punches, almost exactly half what he used to.
