huck? he lost that fight was fat as a pig and got knocked around by a cruiser not a great win outside the fact it's on paper gotta be byrd or chagaev
I'd say Cedric Boswell to be honest. It was comprehensive. Boswell was a moving target with a good jab, he was big, in shape, and Povetkin out dueled and obliterated him. Chris Byrd was on his last legs and Chambers just kinda folded after showing glimpses of his skillset, that wasn't a good win.
I actually think Byrd put up a great fight. He made Povetkin (who is exceptionally accurate) miss a lot and countered in bursts of action that scored. Yeah he was long in the tooth, but I think that Byrd would still have beaten a lot of guys. I think Povetkin struggled a bit with such a step up in calibre at that time, and his response was to up the volume of work to a crazy tempo. A great little fight; both guys looked good.
I'm another for Chagaev. Reckon his is the most achieved name who was prime on Pov's resume and that fight is the most exciting win Povetkin ever pulled off.
Basically he has no good wins but look at how well he whoops losers? I actually quite like that....maybe you've softened me on Pov.
Chambers>Chagaev The Chaggy fight was in 2011. Chaggy’s last good win, to this day, was Valuev in 2007. Chambers was in 2008. He beat Brock in 07 and Peter+Dimitrenko in 09.
I agree with that, but Chagaev damn near whooped his ass. Bit hard for me to say that version of Ruslan wasn't as good as the Valuev version, but that ain't much of nothing really. If you reckon Chamber for prime I ain't about to tell you you're wrong.
Plus, I thought the cards were horrible in the Chaggy Sasha fight. It was a boring, bad, hard to score fight in general, if memory serves, but I recall that being a much closer fight than the scorecards indicated. Even if Chaggy=Chambers, Povetkins win over Chambers was clearer and more impressive than his win over Chagaev.
chambers was prime for sure but hes middling. To call him a best is damning Pedvetkin with feint praise.
