What is Ray Mercer's beef with Larry Merchant (Hilarious 2010 vid)

I love Ray Mercer but doesn't he remember that he already fought Wlad... when he was younger... and it didn't turn out so well.

 

Funny interview, Mercer seems to be a good bloke

He's clearly not delusional as some other boxers (Toney, Johnson), and he doesn't talk **** about the Klitschkos.

I disagree about Larry Merchant, He's not biased towards Russians. The only Russians Merchant supported were the K-Bros, and when K-Bros failed Merchant also smacked them.

I liked that interview, it was a bit comical the way it was so informal. Interviewed like it was some guy asking Ray questions at a bar.

 

um actually he wasnt young when he fought wlad...............HW WAS 41 AND THATS ANCIENT FOR A HEAVYWEIGHT:nono

 

ray came down to the level of the interviewer revealing himself in a more natural way. larry merchant talking down to fighters in his up tight, upper class way always putting blue collar dudes on edge. hence "I hate that mother ****er"

By comparison old harry carpenter could ask the same questions as merchant whilst always talking to fighters like they are human beings.

 

Good interview.

Ray seems a chilled guy with a good sense of humour but a true tough guy all the same.

His points about MMA were spot on imo, it's strikes that excite people not wrestling which is the ace boxing always has up its sleeve over MMA.

 

Young is definite. Younger is relative.

Perhaps that subtlety was lost on you.

 

Kimbo Slice beat Ray's ass. A veteran heavyweight losing to some guy off the street. That was pathetic!

 

some younger guy off the street full of PEDs who had more training in MMA. That goes a long way. Ray thought Kimbo was going to box. Ray didnt do too bad in his next MMA fight.
