"A middleweight world title eliminator between Jack Culcay and Sergiy Derevyanchenko was ordered this week to determine the mandatory challenger for titlist Daniel Jacobs, who outpointed Derevyanchenko for a vacant title on Oct. 27. The IBF sent a letter to Z Promotions, representing Culcay, and Derevyanchenko promoter Lou DiBella notifying them of the order. Culcay has already agreed to participate while Derevyanchenko (12-1, 10 KOs), 33, a Ukraine native fighting out of Brooklyn, New York, has not yet as he may go in another direction. If he passes, the IBF will move on to the next available contender in its rankings and order him to face former interim junior middleweight titlist Culcay (25-3, 13 KOs), 33, of Germany.". http://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=1-25476095
Sign with Matchroom. Get active, try and go the WBO route. 2 fights in the first half of this year then a fight VS Andrade would be interesting later in the year.
Fight the guy they want him to fight, get a rematch with Jacobs and work on a better gameplan. An unknown dude like him needs a belt to make serious money.
According to Adam Abramowitz (http://www.saturdaynightboxing.com/2018/12/the-middleweight-sweepstakes.html), Derevyanchenko and his team has offers for all major boxing TV platforms (ESPN, DAZN, Showime/Fox), so, at least, he will be fighting average boxers. And then (it will depend on how successful he would be doing that) maybe he will get his second chance at one of the titles.
It's a shame his career was staled and that he wasn't given big fights earlier because he's a great talent and is extremely exciting to watch. But he's already 33 years old, and as someone else mentioned, he's a huge risk for a little reward. If he was managed better and given bigger fights a bit earlier in his career, he'd probably be, if not the best, the second best middleweight by now, despite his lack of size. By the way I had him winning against Jacobs. It was a great performance and a great fight, I really hope he has at least a couple more fights of that caliber in him.
