Nothing's wrong with Floyd. But those of us who "RESPECT" the sport of boxing and it's history won't stand by, and allow someone to write themselves into the history books based on falsehoods.

Floyd is a HOF'er but he hasn't done anything to be called an ATG. Floyd has been great at only realy one weight class 130lbs. In which for whatever reason (not saying it was PBF's fault), he fought only 1 of the top fighter's in the division.

Please don't give me governing body rankings.....puhlease don't! The top guys at the time were: Casamayor, Corrales, and Freitas. It is that simple. PBF had a virtuoso performance against the guy I believe was 2nd best among the three I mentioned earlier.

But there is nothing in Floyd's record that makes him a dominant 135lber. Floyd didn't take on even an older Stevie Johnston. HBO tried desperatley to make the fight after PBF defeated Castillo in the rematch. Again not saying he was scared.....not even saying it was his fault.

All I am saying is at 135lb, PBF received a controversial (I had it for PBF) decision against Castillo in the first fight. And in the 2nd fight only proved that he could run circles around Castillo. Because that is exactly how he won that fight. He stayed on his bicycle like I have never seen him before or since. Not even for big punching Corrales did he find himself doing more moving than punching.

At 140lb he defeated a popular fighter in Gatti who had been previously been beaten by:

Angel Manfredy, Ivan Robinson (2x), and Ward

Now for whatever reason he didn't get to fight Hatton at his best weight. Ok.....again maybe not his fault but what should we be giving him credit for at this weight?

And then PBF moves to welterweight and he fights Sharmba (a jr welter). Do you want to know who beat Sharmba at Sharmba's "Prime Weight" of 140lb? Stevie Johnston did and he did by stoppage. He was actually the 2nd guy to it. Another Johnson did it as well.

Stevie was a small lightweight let alone a jr welter but he had a hard time getting fights throughout his career. Especially early on.

Then PBF goes on to fight Zab. Name a fight besides Spinks that Judah has won at WW against a top WW? Zab's best weight was at jr welter......not welter. So again PBF fights another jr welter. In fact what weight class does Zab fight at today? You guessed it......jr welter.

Then PBF fights Baldomir at WW. I have no problem with this......Baldomir was the lineal champ. But what has Baldo done since his win over Zab to show he "evolved" into a top WW? Not elite....just a top 10 contender. That's right......nothing. He turned out to be a tough, durable guy, but without much talent or technique to help him compete against top WW's or Elite fighters.

And I should note that I even argued at the time when many were saying this fight was a waste of time that it was a legit fight because Baldo was the champ. And that he possibly could give PBF problems there is more to him than meets the eye.

I based this on Castillo who was never considered anything but ordinary prior to winning the title. And actually got better after he won the title. And he won the title against a guy with much better skills than him.

Then PBF fights DLH at 154lbs. At the time PBF fought DLH, what rank was DLH at 154lb by Ring? He was 5th.....and even that wasn't based on anything but really name recognition. Please don't say Ricardo because Ricardo never did anything at 154lb to be considered a top jr middle.

So now we come to Hatton. Though Hatton was not at his prime weight, I understand that jr welters move up to fight at WW. And Hatton wasn't just some jr welter he was the man at jr welter. So I consider this a legit win. Not so much for the WW clas itself, but just for P4P this is a legit win.

And finally we have PBF fighting JMM......I am not even going to go into this fight. I shouldn't have to. Not for anyone.....and I certainly won't waste my breath trying to convince *****s this fight was a disgrace! Since they would lick PBF's ass clean if he told them too.

So you tell me Fitzgerald........what's so great about Floyd? Again I don't think there is anything bad about him. But that doesn't mean those of us that care about the sport have to allow PBF to pawn himself off to the public as something he isn't.

And what is that? It is his claim he is an ATG. Because based on his current accomplishments. He isn't, and has probably wasted too much time already, and let too many big fights slip by to change it.

Great and ATG get thrown around to freely in our society along with the word "GENIUS".

Floyd is a HOF'er and I believe a great defensive fighter. But he isn't an ATG fighter, and there are several fighters at 130lb and 135 (his best two weight classes) that I would, and many others would pick against him.

The position I am stating isn't hate it's just a conclusion that I have come to based on some pretty straight forward facts.

would Mayweather vs Marquez been a disgrace if Mayweather would've lost?

If Castillo won the first fight why couldn't he will hiimself to win the second fight?

So you discredit Floyd and his opposition?

Baldomir was the legitimized welterweight champion

    so was Zab

Hatton was a former welterweight champion and was undefeated

DLH was the reigning 154lb WBC champion

Shane is the reigning WBA welterweight champion and is rated the #1 welterweight by many.

HOw come you come up with excuses ... explain to me how in 40 fights and 20 championship bouts he has yet to lose?

Would have lost....again are u kidding me? JMM was a no hoper...I told everyone who asked me that, that fight was a joke. Only a blind nuthugger would argue about it. Floyd took you all to the cleaners because I certainly didn't pay for that fight. I didn't even bother to watch it live.

I specifically said I thought PBF won! Again like most *****S you only hear what you want to.

Giving an accurate assessment of who and what they were at the time he fought them is not discredit. Again *****s using words they don't know the meaning of. To discredit someone would be to make false claims about them. Tell me what did I say about any of PBF's past opponents that isn't true in your opinion. Lets discuss.

And I said I had no problem with this fight. Again ***** you got to read.

No Zab wasn't! I don't care what the STUPID sanctioning body tried to pull leading up to that fight. He lost to Baldo. But I don't care about him fighting Zab......just don't try and tell me it means PBF is a top WW.

Again you need to read. I said this was a legit win. But how does this win make Floyd and ATG......or just even a great WW currently? Please explain.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.......yeah that was Ranked 5 by the Ring. And got the title what by defeating Ricardo.....who did what to deserve a shot at the Jr middle title. You act like DLH defeated Winky to get that bull **** belt.

Yeah.....so who said Shane wasn't a top fight for PBF. Unless this is in response to someone else's post.

What excuses? If I say I am the greatest at something.......it either HOLDS UP TO SCRUTINY OR IT DOESN'T!

    PBF's claims don't.

What is so funny.....is that you are what you declare others to be.

You can't begin to debate me. I know my boxing. So you have to dismiss me.

Isn't that what I stated earlier is really the subjective definition of the word: DISCREDIT.

You see you try to discredit me NOT on merit but with personal arguments to avoid the debate.

It's funny but it turns out that Floyd fans have a lot in common with PBF. They much prefer to AVOID the FIGHT (i.e. the debate) than prove they are the best fighter (i.e. their position is the correct one).

So tell me again who's the hater you or me?

Requiem is being unfairly attacked by people who are refusing to see the truth. He never said Floyd wasn't talented or was not great. He simply was giving reasons why you can dispute his welterweight wins(the division where Floyd has the least credibility resume-wise to anyone who is not a nuthugger).

Floyd is NOT a proven ATG at welterweight, sorry to break it to everyone. Your resume is what ultimately decides that. Neither is Pac but Pac does have one legitimate welterweight name on his ledger that Floyd never acquired(Cotto) and Floyd is waiting to get one(Mosley) Neither man will ever get credit for their legitimate wins(Mosley would be too old should Floyd win and Cotto was overrated or ruined by Margarito) The big fights involving legitimate elite welterweights and Mayweather never happened. The most meaningful fights legacy-wise also never happened at 140 or 135(at 140, Hatton and Cotto's promoters wouldn't let Floyd at them yet and Hatton got to Tszyu while Floyd was busy using the Gatti fight for better recognition.....and at 135 for whatever reasons Casamayor and Freitas fought each other but not Floyd.....Corrales fought both but Floyd only fought him) Floyd showed true greatness at 130(I consider him an ATG there) It's just a shame he didn't stay long enough there.

The problem many people have with Floyd AND his most ardent and blind fans is there are the boasts of him being 'GOAT' or better than *insert name of proven ATG here* but the body of work to support that is just isn't there. That body of work can only involve facing the best out there of your time and beating most if not all(or getting them in rematches at least) to even be considered to be comparable to ATGs of the past.

When this is pointed out, Floyd superfans get very defensive and bring things up that don't make up for what his resume lacks(he's undefeated for instance....but it's an undefeated record against not the best out there) or they sling baseless insults(you're a hater because you had the nerve to criticize him using logical facts....the same logic Floyd fans and other blind super fans use to tear down other fighters to make their fighter shine)

Ali and Ray Robinson were cocky egotistical *******s. They thought extremely high of themselves. However there are Floyd fans who will tear them down and use the meaningless reason that Floyd is better because they have have losses and Floyd doesn't. That Floyd has so many titles in so many weight classes when one fighter(Ali) was at the highest weight class and the other(Robinson) fought at a time where there were not the intermediate weight classes(the light/junior divisions) and fought many fights at middle against top middleweights weighing in as a welterweight.

Yes they lost. Several times. But that can very well happen when you fight the best. They went back in return bouts and reaffirmed their greatness and went on to achieve more big wins. Losing to the best is far more admirable than playing it safe against the rest where no one could beat you. That will never make you an ATG. Floyd still has times to make amends to be mentioned highly among the legends of welterweight.

Oh I appreciate the props. But don't worry bout me.

I love taking on the idiots here at ESB.

Some years it was DLH nuthuggers, then it was RJJ nuthuggers, then it was Hamed Nuthuggers, or Wlad nuthuggers.

ESB is known for their NUTHUGGING community.

That isn't to say they are any worse than any other forum. They aren't.

I can take on all the nuthuggers by myself. They never get to me I love seeing them post that crap they call LOGIC!

I see you can take care of yourself. I just see your sentiments echo mine. I was a big fan of Floyd's until his mouth really started superceding his accomplishments(where with proven ATGs their accomplishments equaled or exceeded their boasts) Nuthuggers are what they are. Facts and logic only mean something to them if it hold's their fighter in a positive light. When it it used critically then they'll have nothing of it and either sling childish insults or use ridiculous 'counter-logic' that only makes sense to them only.

I'm a very objective boxing fan who can be objective with even my favorite fighters. However, no matter who I'm scrutinizing I always look at things from both sides of the argument before make my final assessment. My posts(the serious ones anyway) prove it. I refuse to :smh

People, don't hate the playa hate the game! The game of Boxing is 10% sport and 90% business. Everyone makes a business decision in boxing to maximize their income. The same peeps who blast PBF for fighting oscar and Hatton praise Pac.

to answer you question about PBF, people cannot separate his persona from the person. He is by far the most hated and talked about boxer in the world today and that is exactly what he wants because everyone will tune in to watch him fight. therefore, this lines his pockets even more and then he tells his hater F U after and they hate him even more.

there is nothing wrong with trash talk because it has been around since the dawn of time

there is nothing wrong with saying your the greatest Ali was saying this before he fought anybody and he was hated by many back then

there is nothing wrong with being brash. Ali, robinson, jack johnson were a lot more in your face.

As for Joe Calzaghe . . . he was a good fighter but his fans constantly make outlandish claims about him. He is not the GOAT, he could beat RJJ in his prime and he does not walk on water. I think if his supporters would stop talkin **** about him he would gain more respect. and stop putting him in threads with the likes of PAC and PBF they are in another league.

7 years...the last 7 years......hes called out people but fought the following
vicoriono sosa, phillip ndou, chop chop, henry brussels, sharmba mitchell, zab judah (after coming off a loss) baldomir....
he wants to get that 154 pound belt...but instead of dangerous fights with vernon forrest or winky wright, he fights DLH (yeah good financial move, yippie, bad for credibility, path of least resistance)
    big names beaten.
    hatton
    gatti (shot beyond belief)
    marquez (featherweight)

7 long years when hes peaked, when big fights can be made and this is what he brags about being undefeated with? he should be.....
he fights sosa, sharba, brussels, ndou, corley, judah...instead of guys like forrest, winky, paul williams, margarito, cotto.....
thats whats bad about him....you cant call yourself the best when you very very seldon fight anything remotley considered the best....
    :deal:good
