i was playing fight night, and i got knocked down twice by a journeyman in the second round. it was only a six round fight.

i got up and started boxing him from the outside, racking up points before knocking him down in the sixth and final round. one a clear 6 round decision. it was a defining moment in my fight night career.

Once, after sparring a round at Stillman's Gym, I looked down and saw Sugar Ray Robinson ringside. He gave me an approving nod. Couldn't have been prouder if I'd won a title.

when i beat the **** out of this kid that beat this new kid up in the ring.

he was heavier than me but was a sucker for a straight right hand left hook combo.

he caught me at first but then i tagged him to the body with a jab to the dome and a left hook the body.

i had him up against the ropes and he lunged with a left jab and i stepped to the right, countered with a straight right, left uppercut to the solar plexus, and a left hook to the chin that brought him down.

needless to say he never went rough on a new kid again after that.

Another time at Stillman's, J, a guy backed into me while I was hittin' the heavy bag.

"Sorry," Joe Louis said. My mouth dropped open.

I met Eddie Futch and i was asking him about training Fraizer for Ali,and he was explaining to me about when he wanted Fraizer to counter inside with the left hook. So he asked me to mimick Fraizer and come in he was mimicking Ali moves , he was impressed with my hook said i had great technique in throwing it, I dont think he was just telling me that cause ive always thought i had a great one. It was great hearing it from maybe the greatest trainer ever. THis was at the WBHOF banquet and he was in his 80s already and had a young attractive blond that couldnt have been over 35 and i think it was his wife (not sure).
Also Sparring With Adrian Arreola (who beat Lupe Pintor and fought Chavez close)as a teenager and holding my own.
