I just ordered my Dell Vostro laptop. It's suited for a light gamer like me. Used to have a n64 and played KO Kings 2000. I really liked the feature where you can create your own fighter with attributes. Playabilty & control of that game was excellent IMO. Graphics are nice but most important to me is playability. Some PS3 games had little playability but top graphics / simulations - if I was seeking that I can just buy Toy Story 2. Suggestions? What makes it tough is that it has to be for PC.
I remember some boxing game in 1982, where you could create boxers and have the fighting other created boxers or from a database of known ones. Think you could chose a kangaroo for body. Have only seen one or two since then. One from Goliath games(where you could have 6 boxers) and some later one - None have been outstanding - a real shame.
Yup was about to post the same thread. Does anybody know some recent boxing game for the PC?? I played some nice boxing game at the PS2 this weekend at a friends house and really loved it (The one with Bernard Hopkins on the front). I searched the whole internet to find a title for a boxing game but I don't think there's any out now. If you know about one pls post the title (not the simulation one 'Title bout championship boxing'). Thx!
Nah, I have a gamepad for the PC that is exactly the same as the PSX/PS2 gamepad, so the gameplay will be the same. They only don't bring those games out on the PC, like fight night. I don't want to be bothered with snes games after playing such a great game on the PS2. I assume there is a fairly large market for these games if some of the big companies would bring out a game as there is (almost) none right now.
Thank you all for your responses. This is very disappointing. I saw Fight Nights Round 3 for PS3 - AMAZING! So realistic - the features & playability are so cool. I've done a thorough search: no Fight Night Series for PC no Knockout Kings for PC (well, '98 is no where to be found anyway). The closest game is 4D boxing or whatever - looks like CRAP. My conclusion is that there are no UP TO DATE boxing games for PC today. PC is the most efficient way to go. I purchased my laptop for 850 - 200 - 150 = $500. Besides doing the so many daily needs like surfing the net, email, burning multimedia, watching porn (j/k), etc - it is GREAT for gaming. Graphics are DEFINITELY superior to PS2, probably close or equal ot PS3 (don't remember PS3). WHo can afford to shell out $600 for something that doesn't do a whole lot more but ONLY play games and can't be upgraded? Later on you can upgrade the PC with a better graphics card and BAM! it'll WHIP PS3. Too bad they don't have boxing games. I have so far Need for Speed Carbon, Stalker First Person Shooter Game (AMAZING GRAPHICS - so realistic), Madden NFL '07, NBA LIVe '07. Damn, I just want a boxing game.I also have an X box 360 controller that works perfect with my PC. I don't want emulators because doing a direct PC game is more straightforward. Even then, I'll consider looking for an XBOX 360 emulator. That has Fight Nights Round 3 (although not as many features as PS3) and it'll fit perfect with my controller of course! If I find anything - I'll let you guys know.
OK, nevermind about the emulator for XBOX 360. A quick google search has posts telling people to stop talking about it as it won't show up for many years from now. EMUs take up so much CPU anyway (yes, compared to EVEN playing the real game for PC). Maybe I'll look for PS2 EMU now - unlikely too though.
hahaha...sorry, my man, but do you have any idea what beast of a machine you would need to emulate a Xbox 360? Naw, they haven't made one powerful enough yet. Give good old 4D boxing a try. It's old, but it ain't that bad. It's quite enjoyable really. The best bet for you is getting a PS2 emulator and praying your machine can handle it. What I find funny is that EA willingly make Madden for the PC, NHL for the PC, NBA for the PC...but no Fight Night. I mean, most PC gamers these days own a gamepad anyway, so what's the deal?
I'm a PC fan too, but many would disagree with what you said. Many people are tired of the endless patches and drivers you need for PC games, and would rather pay a bit more for a specialist machine that doesn't need constant attention. I love 'em both really. :good
While you won't likely find a working PS2 emulator you will find working PS1 emulators. With some anti-aliasing you can make the old Knockout Kings looks very good, but you're still playing an older game. It might satisfy you, though.
