FOTC, never in history has the entire world been focused on a fight

Certainly Ali-Frazier 1 was the biggest fight of the decade, if not ever, but from a strictly in the ring point of view, I'm gong with Ali-Frazier 3. The Thrilla was a fantastic battle between two aging warriors giving it their one, last best shot.

Also @Boxingiq2020, you have a lot of good threads but so many of them, such as this one, need to be posted in the classic section.

Maybe controversial but I feel Joe Louis vs Max Schmelling was the real of the century. Given that it was a representation of the century's most important moment.

Ali vs Frazier is the obvious pick for the 70's but im going with Zaire 74 since it was Ali's ultimate redemption moment and a beautiful win.

This is an almost impossible question for me! I'll go with Ali-Frazier 1. I guess.

    Take your pick.

That's why I'm forever stuck in the end of 60's and the 70's.

    So many great fights there!

I've gone with FOTC. It was a great fight to watch, but the story behind it and its significance in boxing elevates it above some of the others on the list imo.

On that list Frazier vs Ali 1 but i also disagree with quite a few of them.

Foreman Vs Ali = The occasion was great and historically its a huge win, but i've never really enjoyed the fight. And i much preferred Arguello vs Olivares.

Foreman vs Young = Again the occasion was great and it was a big upset but the fight itself was just ok. Muhammad vs Johnson 1 was a much better fight and one of the best Light Heavyweight fights of all time.

Ali vs Spinks 1 = How this won over Holmes vs Norton boggles the mind, Holmes vs Norton is one of the greatest Heavyweight fights of all time. Spinks vs Ali was just Ali laying on the ropes for 14 rounds doing nothing and it only had 1 good round the 15th.

Ayala vs Lopez = A good fight but i think other fights were possibly more deserving Leonard vs Benitez or Muhammad vs Johnson 2.

I think some of these fights were chosen because the historical significance, rather than the 2 way action.
