First one I thought of too; if you were watching it live, the timing was just perfect, couldn't have been scripted better. Tyson looked terrible for four rounds, Botha was mocking him - commentator Ferdie Pacheco was talking about how slow and rusty Tyson looked, unable to land punches; at the EXACT moment he said, "That's the mark of a shot fighter - " BOOM! That cracking right hand, couldn't have traveled more than six inches, and Botha fell like a tree. Not his prettiest, and Tyson's best days were certainly behind him, but that was as sudden and harsh a KO as you'd ever see.

Lousy referee in the Ruddock vs. Dokes fight above. Should have stepped in at least one, realistically two punches earlier. Dokes is out on his feet, his hands are down, he's not capable of fighting back or defending himself or anything at all, and the ref just watches as Ruddock slowly, calmly loads up two bombs on him.

Mercante was a let the fighters fight type,he was also not experienced...i know Mercante i used to work with him and his persona went out of the ring too....the only thing you can really fault him on is actually giving the fighter a 10 count....Mercante Jr. wasnt all there himself at times...lol

Good call on Foreman Cooney. That's in my top 5.

I think #1 for me would be Marciano Walcott.

What makes it worse is that the idiot then decides to stand over Dokes and begins to count when even Stevie Wonder could have seen that Doke was totally out cold and wouldn't have got up if he counted to 100. He only stopped his count when people rushed into the ring concerned about the state of Dokes health,

For me it's Robinson's against Fullmer.
I really can't get my head around that punch it was simply sublime.
The timing was just perfect, it wasn't a hard punch but the effect it had on the usually granite chinned Fullmer was devastating.

Jackson against Herol Graham. Old bomber was out cold before he hit the ground.
Marciano v Walcott. Still a great ko to watch.
Lewis v rahman the rematch. Lewis is back!!!
Tyson v spinks. The right that puts spinks down and out.

I picked Sugar Ray against Fullmer but for utter devastation I think you can't go past this.
I remember the fight at the time and knew Graham was well ahead, but it's only when I've watched it again a couple of times recently, that I've realised how much Graham was schooling Jackson, at times he was making him look 2nd rate.
It was quite an extraordinary punch, as he was being backed into the corner and was standing upright, the leverage for the punch can't have come from the legs, it seemed to come from high up on the shoulder.
Maybe some of the technical guys on here who know much more than me can explain how he did it!!

I was rooting for Herol in this one to. I knew of Jackson s power and was silently hoping Graham wouldn't get caught. Another round or so and Jackson would have been blind in the eye and the ref may have stopped it. Then came the punch....

Jersey Joe's Ko of Ezzard Charles is the most boss KO in the history of the sport. He wasn't even in a stance. he just walked on up to him slipped a jab and put the lights out.

The most memorable one-punch knockout that I have ever seen in person was when Mathew Saad Muhammad knocked out Lotte Mwale with a left uppercut in San Diego during 1980. At the time that the punch landed, I was sitting in the audience with Mwale's back towards me, which meant that I did not see the punch being thrown or landing on Mwale. But I remember seeing the moisture flying off the top of Mwale's head due to the impact of the punch.
