    Thoughts?

And what is the best Mickey Mantle? Mantle is the most talented baseball player of all time, and arguably the greatest . I love mantle

I hear "Sonny of Sunnybrook Farm" is pretty good.

But seriously, the only one I've read is "The Devil and Sonny Liston" which I really liked.

What's the name of it? Is it the one I mentioned? I can't remember the author.

On Mantle, there's a really good book called "The Last Boy" that I enjoyed.

I haven't read "61*" about Roger Marist, which Mantle features prominently in, but the movie was excellent.

"The Truth Behind The Ali Fights" is a good one.

I was all set to buy Gallenders book right up until I saw that interview where he says he's still in touch with Sonny Listons ghost...

Ive read Rob Steen and Nick Touches and enjoyed both for certain details. Touches spoiled his book because he did not challenge a claim that Archie Moore threw his fight with Marciano. Pretty outrageous stuff.

Rob Steen is probably the best. It is a pitty that the Sonny Liston story does not seem to attract writers who respect boxing history and other champions so much.

Yeah the Touches book claimed Moore threw the Marciano fight which seems pretty far-fetched when watching the fight.

There was also that long description of what a big ***** Liston had which had he scratching my head as to why he would include that passage in the book.

How many books are out there?
Joe Louis said Ted Williams, so it must be so .
    Cobb, Gehrig,Ruth,Dimaggio?
Who are those guys ? Paul Newman.

ps I heard Mantle was a rude **** to his fans.

I very much enjoyed Ali and Liston by Mee .. I also liked Gallender's book as well but it seemed a bit sugarcoated , kind of the Liston we hope for ..
