What's the best way to control Nerves? I'm pretty fit and do atleast 8-12 rounds of sparring 2 nights a week yet. During my fight my legs felt heavy and tired? And I lose mental focus!

    Whack off.

Just playing.. Try to ease your mind and not really think about the fight until you have to(this works for most things im nervous about).. Maybe you're losing mental focus cause you are thinking a little to much?

Breathe. Focus on your breathing, controlling it and getting into a rhythm with it; breathing in deeply and trying to expand your lungs and diaphram and exhaling slowly and controlled.

Don't think about the fight as much, although I know it's easier said than done. Try to drain out the bad thoughts and keep focused on the job at hand.

“I'm scared every time I go into the ring, but it's how you handle it. What you have to do is plant your feet, bite down on your mouthpiece and say, 'Let's go.'”

Some good advice in the quote above - I had over 30 amateur fights and was nervous before every one. It's all about being able to control them once you're in the ring.

Yeah, out of all my fights there has never been one I wasn't nervous for, I'd get nervous up to the point where it hurt. But once I step in the ring and the bell rings it all disappears.

i think the more u do it the less nervous u get. i was sparring like 3 times a weeks for a period of time and there were almost no nerves ( you want to be nervious to a point) and then i injured my hand, got bak into sparring like a month later and the nerves were worse than ever.

Sparring is different. I've never been nervous for sparring, even in the begining. It's only been during big fights that got me.

That was most likly your body and head getting use to the impact of the punches and just the intensity of the workout itself. Did you also get massive head aches? I know for my first few months I'd get really bad head aches after sparring.
