It would seem that the word is coming to an end with the news that Showtime and not HBO is going to cover the Pacquiao/Mosley fight this coming May.
I have to ask what's the big deal? Why are we all getting our pitchforks and torches out to chase the monster known as Bob Arum again?
Let me ask what is wrong with this move? I have allways like HBO's coverage of boxing better than Showtime's However Showtime has been doing a good job with the sport for a long time now. This is a bussines move on Arum's part. Once again we are wrongly blaming him for this. The Move to showtime and to CBS is going to give the fight More exposier than HBO could have giving it.
All things considered this is a good move for boxing.

Definitely a good move for boxing. I, for one, am glad to see Arum stick his middle finger up at HBO.

More competition amongst the top dogs can be nothing but good for us, the fans. Monopolies are never good for consumers.

Finally!! Someone with sense. Everyone seems to think this is the end of the world but this will actually be better for boxing. I know Showtime and CBS will make Mosley look great and when Pac beats his ass it will gather more fans for boxing along with HBO having to step it up to keep all of its fans rather than "lose" them to HBO. I have been debating lately if i should drop either HBO or Showtime. HBOs schedule isnt all that great this first 3 months so i might. The Donaire-Montiel fight might save them though....
