The problem with the 'Bowe ducked Lewis' theory is that Lewis turned down $11 million dollars to fight Bowe in favour of fighting Frank Bruno for around half that purse.

Marquez turned down a career high purse to fight Hamed in the summer of 2000 and fought some stiff around that same date for considerably less money.

Hamed--under pressure from all the criticism for ducking JMM for over a year-- made a face-saving offer to Marquez, conveniently when JMM had a fight already signed and scheduled.

everyone who knows what is what, knows that Marquez didn't want anything to do with Hamed.

Marquez was offered a huge pay check of 400 thousand for the fight but just kept on with the excuses.

Marquez was the mandatory for 2 YEARS. not once did he try to enforce the fight.

when Koko Kovaks became the mandatory later on, he enforced it. which is why Naz fought Barrera for only the crappy IBO and not the WBO.

get your facts straight next time.

Hamed was under no such pressure by that point; Marquez was no longer the mandatory contender and Marquez's one and only exposure on a major platform came in a absolute stinkfest of a fight the year previous with Freddie Norwood.

Hamed made the offer because he had trouble finding a recognisable face for his August date. The fight was offered to Marquez about three months before said date, for a career high purse and he turned it down.

You can debunk and disprove a theory time and time again, produce solid facts in doing so, and you'll still have one or two ******s repeating themselves over and over.
