Rossman was very clearly beneath the level of Saad Muhammad, Marvin Johnson, Mustafa Muhammad, Qawi, Mike Spinks, Conteh and Galindez himself, et al. But Victor had been in a lot of wars, and Rossman was clearly focused on exploiting that scar tissue over his eyes. To me, the very poorest champs are those who fail to defend their titles successfully. At least Rossman got a single defense under his belt before returning it back to Galindez. (During his brief reign, do you recall that he was actually proposed as a potential challenger for Ali? After Spinks II, Muhammad's WBA title might have been in real jeopardy if he'd tried to carry on.)
Galindez is one of my ALLTIME favs. I have almost all his title fights. What a fighter when he would realize he was down in points. The highlight of that night though, to me, was "Little Red" Lopez absolutely obiterating Malvarez in the second after getting knocked down and around in the 1st. It is a classic example of the Lopez style.:blurp
honeyghan beating curry was absolutely huge at the time, people tend not to give it the kudos it deserved. Curry was being touted as the next sugar muhammad bruce lee until the Ragamuffin did a number on him. john h straceys win over napoles should get a mention also
