What is the boxing season?

generally boxers in the UK don't box in August.

Surely August is the one time of the year to really hammer it home with boxing shows? There's generally a lull in every sport around this time.

Find it so strange.

 

you’d think that but maybe Sky feel that they have more viewers generally when the footballs on and they want to advertise to that audience

BoxNation on the other hand should go for it.

 

I think the summer break was a tradition long before Sky or tv came on scene.

The last six weeks of the year, during that stretch of holidays, you virtually never see any big events.

 

The British boxing season runs from September until the end of July, but it's not something that's set in writing like sports that have fixtures, it's just a tradition that the sport winds down for about six weeks each summer.

BoxNation only had 1 show on from Germany the whole month, and Sky Sports had nothing.
