This was a fight where 1 second was an agonizing eternity it had to be the most dreadful, boring, Buddha-awful all time P4P worst excuse for a HW championship fight I ever had the displeasure of seeing in my entire life, bar none. Wow, that feels better
Wilder 1. Many refs would have stopped the fight the way he went down so hard, and few would have complained. We'd be in a very different landscape right now had that happened. Wilder 3. Wilder dropped him twice in one round. A few more seconds on the clock he probably would have went down again, and most refs would stop a fight if you go down 3 times in a round. This one is a bit of a stretch since there was not more time on the clock, but the question was "closest to losing" and that was a close one. Wallin. Again, a fight that could have been stopped. The cut was pretty bad, and caused by punches. McDermott. McDermott won that fight, and Fury was given a gift.
Closest fight he ever had was McDermott 1 because he lost it. However, he didnt properly train in those days and when he came back in fighting shape he easily beat McDermott in the rematch.
Yeah, Wlad was too old. Not even a fair fight. Giant ballet boxer hopped up on boar meat against a geriatric robot.
McDemott beat him and was robbed! Older blown up cruiser weight Cunningham ( age 36 ) did well vs Fury and followed him. Fury who was docked points five separate tines is five fights fought dirty here as well. Read this! Fury fought wildly in the first two rounds of the bout, and was floored heavily by Cunningham in the 2nd round. Cunningham continued to land heavy punches on Fury for the next few rounds, until being worn down by Fury's size advantage and power punches. By round seven, Fury had fully rebounded and handed Cunningham the first knockout defeat of his career with a cuffing right hand against the rope. Earlier, in round five, Fury was docked a point following a headbutt. At the time of the stoppage, Fury was behind on two judges' scorecards 57–55, while the other judge had it 56–56 (even). A week after the fight, Cunningham spoke to ATG Radio, claiming that Fury used an illegal manoeuvre to knock him out, "He held me with his forearm. He pushed me in the corner twice – which is illegal – and then he pushed me with his forearm, cocked my head to the left and threw a right hook.
Ukad - UK and doping wanted to follow the case to a conclusion but we're overruled by UK treasury who weren't willing to cover potential costs if UK's expensive legal team managed to winkle him out of the mire McDermott can't count as Tyson clearly lost that one. In the ring I think it's a tossup between wilder 3 and Cunningham. I'll go for wilder.
