What is the deal with how these officials are just throwing fights in the super six

Let's keep our eyes on the refereeing in the upcoming fights. However, for now we have little to really talk about because it wouldn't have changed much of anything at all.

And Dirrell fought a completely wrong fight and lost the fight himself. Actually Dirrell, according to the rules, ought to have had at least one point deducted for ducking in the waist facing the ground. This is illegal and Dirrell did this more than any other fighter I have seen for a long time. Froch in return tried to hit him in the back of the head.

In such a case the one who is ducking should get the point deducted first. If Froch then still keeps trying to hit in the back, then Froch should have one deducted too.

But Dirrell never got a point deducted as he should have according to the rules.

 

dirrell might have fougt the wrong fight but he won easily. so him losing was bull****. and having that point being deducted was bull****.

 

There may be some hometown bias. . .happens everywhere. . .United States included. . .no big deal. Holyfield-Lewis I and DLH-Sturm and, more recently, Cintron-Martinez, were far greater robberies than Dirrell-Froch. You could also throw in Castillo-PBF I in there although it's a little, but not too big, of a stretch. These were all hometown decisions favoring the US fighter versus a foreigner. It just sucks when its the fighters one cheers that are on the receiving end of hometown officiating.


We'll see how it all balances out when the Super 6 moves to the US for a couple of fights.

Taylor did low blow, that's not bull****. And how was Abraham fighting dirty? Not even Taylor's corner had complains about the ref.

It was a bad night for American boxing, get over it. I scored the fight for Dirrell, but he still has only himself to blame. I don't see some anti - American conspiracy here. It is American boxing that always emphasizes going forward and tends to discredit fighters who fight going backwards and then Dirrell comes to Europe and runs most of the night.

 

JT absolutely did hit AA with some low blows. But AA was also out there begging for the ref to call them right from the get go. I think it is a tactic of his. I can't blame him, let's him focus on protecting his head, which he does well.

 

Taylor deserved a point. He nailed AA with a hard low blow, the ref let him off but then he continued to stray south of the border. Whether they all landed in the danger zone or not I'm not sure but they were far too close for comfort, he can only blame himself after getting a warning.

Dirrell deserved a point but so did Froch. Whether for rabbit punching or throwing his opponent to the floor.

 

The American fighters paid for their transgressions. The european fighters did not, therefore, the credibility of the Sauerland Six took a big hit.

After the Froch vs. Dirrell fight ended I shut off the TV and vowed not to watch the super six, too bad Ward vs. Kessler is so intriguing.

 

Sauerland Events, a european promoter, put this tournament together. The 4 non-sauerland fighters were hand picked based on the near certainty that they will all lose to Sauerland's two fighters. Better, more proven, more deserving fighters were not invited.

No matter how brilliantly Showtime promotes this tournament it had little real credibility to begin with. During the opening two fights the europeans fouled at will without repurcusions while both refs constantly jumped all over the American fighters. The Suaerland Six now has less credibility than it started with.

One iffy decision on a horrible fight so lets just cancel the whole thing.

In fact if you replay the 12th really slowly, you can see the ref pulling Jermain's hands down to make it easier for Abraham to KO him. Just an absolute travesty.
