The answer is Manny beat a more washed up fighter. look at this picture.
Now i give manny credit for his win cos although DLH is shot to **** its still a good name on his record.
But then again, i gave calzaghe credit for beating another ageing legend, who was far more competitive and in far better shape.
My point is that anyone who refused to give joe any credit but is now sucking pac off is a bell end of the highest order and incapable of seeing past their own bias.
I have one respected poster in mind here, who slated joe no end but is now proclaimind pacman to be the second coming of christ.
Again, look at that picture, there are at least 8/9 fighters around 147 and below who would have battered oscar saturday night .
    ****-take.
I salute manny for his win, but don't rank it any higher than calzaghes .

    That is one sorry-ass photo.

Think folk are on an emotinal high at the minute, it's a bit crazy. Think they will calm down in time. Got no problem with people celebrating Pac's victory, but when folk who didnt have him in their to 70 ATG on friday start thinking he is top 10, on the back of that fight it's hard not to type some **** back.

this is why I made this thread.

I new the Calzaghe nuthuggers would begin to show their faces, and try to diminish one of the greatest victories in quite some time....

Its especially Ironic coming from Calzaghe fans, considering the last man he beat was already known to be completely shot, and even older and even more damaged.

Pacman beat up a bigger man , a man who had never been beat up like that in all of his great fights...

Calzaghe had a punching bag in front of him who was no real threat to him at all, and still could not close the show with a KO . on top of that, he was even floored by RJJ

Calzaghe is a great fighter, and deserves a lot of respect, but you nuthuggers really need to wake the **** up

jones got stretched out in the canvass twice and was barely winning against nobodies in the last five years. his last good win was against another thoroughly past-it fighter who was visibly smaller and out of shape.

dlh just a year ago lost by a close SD against then P4P number 1 PBF, he dominated forbes in a 12-round shut-out just months ago, forbes being the last fighter who fought closely against WBC welter champ Berto. prior to the pacman match, DLH was being called by fans to fight the monster Margarito and Paul Williams, two prime fighters whom fans thought would give DLH a real match instead of a cherry-picked Pacquiao. The same thing cannot be said about roy jones.

The difference is Manny's are entertaining and he doesn't slap and stick his face out like a moron.

its just hard to accept that calzaghe wasn't able to KO jones cold in the canvass when it has been done twice already by lesser-ranked fighters, years ago when jones was a lot younger.

pac on the other hand gave oscar a more thorough beating something that the former P4P fighter in PBF wasn't able to do just year ago.

I really don't know how this guy, and other brits are arguing this. This is my same argument .... They assume just because oscar got beat worse than Roy Jones that it instantly means he is more shot.... They don't seem to realize that maybe DLH was just beat by a far more elite fighter on top of not being at his best.

Where as Calzaghe was floored and was not able to TKO a glass chinned and well well past his prime RJJ. And even took some good shots from RJJ.

There was a reason why this fights outcome was such a shock, and the RJJ v Calzaghe outcome was not a shocker

what's so blind and foolish in my post? roy jones was clearly shot he had no chance against tarver in their grudge match, he was barely winning against the hanshaws and some unknown bum. scoring a knockdown over calzaghe in the first round doesn't mean he is no longer shot.

That's a load of complete garbage.

Roy Jones was coming off a win to Trinidad and the rest of his wins weren't worth mentioning, not to forget that he looked terrible in all of those fights as well. Also add that Jones has been shot since 2003, he was only far worse when he ran into Calzaghe and Calzaghe was a solid favorite in the fight.

Manny Pacquiao was moving up two weight divisions, was a HUGE underdog, had absolutely ZERO physical advantages in this fight. DLH was coming off a win over Forbes and a VERY competitive fight with Mayweather Jr., who was the #1 P4P at the time too. If DLH had no chances he wouldn't have been a huge favorite in a fight NO ONE gave Pacquiao a chance in, please mention the names that picked Calzaghe against Jones and compare them with the ones that picked Pacquiao. Whoever picked Pacquiao was insulted to DEATH, now that he won it's not as good as Calzaghe's win?, that's beyond idiotic.
