i do agree its superior beatboxer . my point is posters who refused to give any credit for joes PERFORMANCE and chose only to ridicule him for battering a shot fighter are the same ones who are doing exactly the opposite here.

This is exactly what I've been saying, but coming from a known Calzaghe fan, this objectivity and sound reasoning truly is a pleasure to read. Maybe this forum isn't such a bad place after all...

To me, Calzaghe's win over Jones was the classic case of simply beating up an old legend for money. I don't hold it against him really: he had fought both Kessler and Hops who people were demanding to see. In terms of legacy, it means very little indeed. At best, simply a win over a top 10 LHW.

I think if he fights one more time, it will be against either Dawson or Froch, both of which I would be happy with, though the former would do wonders for his legacy if it takes place.

    1. I'm not Pacfan, I've often discredited Pac on here
    2. You yet again ignored mine and everyone else's questions on here, thats the definition of ignorance and bias, well done :good

its only a bad place when posters maquerading as boxing experts single out a fighter they dislike for no apparent reason and post biased **** about them

Thanks for the postive feedback guys....

I think it's well known I'm a big JC fan, but never for one moment have I said he deserves to be ranked above Pacman in the P4P rankings...yesterday just increased the gap that much wider between the two in that sense.

The fact is, hardly anybody thought that Manny could overcome the physical disadvantages....and boy didn't he just. For me, it's one of the best wins of this decade, I would go that far.

We already knew DLH was past his prime: didn't stop people from considering him a force from 147 to 160 a threat to Margo, Cotto, anyone. Then a former flyweight, a guy fighting at 130 not so long ago, comes to 147 and beats him like no one else ever has, including one of the finest MW's of all time!

The wins aren't even comparable. That's taking nothing away from Joe, whom I consider to be an all time great and my favourite active figther, that's simply giving a true all time modern great the credit he deserves in Manny Pacquiao.

I said 'I've discredited Pac', When I write I, it means 'I Powerpuncher' NOT 'I Stonerose'

Manny gets credit because he went for a risky fight. He was the odds on underdog and won in dominant fashion. Joe took a safe fight which he was expected to win. Sure he dominated the fight but that was what was expected of him.

i agree with this , but the fact remains that both fighters beat shells of their former selves , but only one got any credit.in my eyes they both get credit.
i agree pacquaio is the worlds finest boxer at the moment, by some distance with calzaghe second in my opinion.
but i'll say it again, this was not my point.

I understand why you're lashing out, you are ****ed up royally with this biased and ill-informed thread and have severely sullied your own reputation and you know it, so my feelings aren't too hurt.

Totally correct. De La Hoya was terrible. A load of people on here were desperate for Calzaghe to lose and when he didn`t they trashed Roy. The same people are silent on ODLH`s performance which was clearly FAR worse.
