difference is everyone knew rjj was shot, including calzaghe. people did not know for sure what dlh could bring. much riskier fight and deserves much more credit, stupid calzaghe fan boy.

An absolutely diabolical thread to be honest. Poor analysis and very disappointing bias. I'm demoralized.

In Oscar's last 2 fights, he took the undisputed world pound-for-pound number 1 to an SD then beat Forbes arguably more comfortably than Berto did in Forbes's next fight - and Berto is supposed to be the next big thing at 147.

There was no real hard evidence that Oscar was shot going into the fight last night - not like RJJ getting sparked cold by guys he would have annihilated in his prime, guys nowhere near the p4p class of the guys Oscar has lost to, and then dropping down a level (or two) to fight non top 10 ranked guys like Prince Nobody, Hanshaw (stopped in 4 or 5 rounds in his next fight after Jones outpointed him) or a horribly rusty, overweight and shot-to-**** Tito Trinidad. The Oscar who fought Floyd and Forbes is a far better fighter than the Jones who fought Hanshaw and Trinidad, that should be obvious if you take the blinkers off.

Manny Pacquiao jumped TWO weight divisions to fight Oscar, a former flyweight world champ (112lbs) fighting a former middleweight champ (160lbs).

Pacquiao's win over Oscar is one of the best victories in recent years, Calzaghe slapping around the corpse of Roy Jones was a shameful sham of a fight.

The two wins could not be further apart in value.

Lets see dela hoya fight one more time, then we'll decide. MAB was said to have been shot when Pac first beat him. But he continued to dominate after that.

Read my post. I'm so demoralized by this thread and this attitude I can't even be bothered discussing it.

how about you quit beating around the bush and say whats really in your heart

you're a Calzaghe dickrider and thats why you made this stupid ass thread... people theres no reason to explain to him anything.......there is little to no similarities between Pac fighting Oscar, and Calz fighting Jones.....any sheep with half a brain knows this, and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to log out right now, because they're not even worth exchanging words with

worst thread i've seen all day...

Try getting hit so hard. You'd think twice about engaging. :yep
He wasnt throwing anymore because he's hurting...even if he did, Pac was too fast to get hit. DLH is an offensive fighter..once he gets in the ring with a more offensive machine like Pac thats what happens.

PAC was always taking the risk! Always made the fight exciting! He's not always in his own country to fight!

ALL THIS YEARS CALZAGHE WAS HIDING IN UK WHERE 95% OF HIS FIGHT WAS MADE. He went out of the shell to fight HOPKINS and RJJ during their TWILIGHT of their careers!

CALZAGHE being #1p4p YES! If all the voters are BRITONS!!!!!!!
    :hi:

    good, i'm glad.
again, if you read the post i said i rate manny's win highly, but he pretty much did exactly what joe did, beat an ageing legend. yes he was coming up in weight, yes he stopped him but in my opinion oscar was in worse shape than roy .

    not hard is it ?
its you ****ing lot who are bias, i give fighters credit when its due .

There are some deluded fanboys on this website.

Calzaghe had s few decent wins, Floyd is the most skilled fighter I've seen since the 80's.

That said - The "p4p" difference between Manny and Joe and Floyd is risk.

Not just in the inherrant risk ANY fighter at any level takes in getting into the boxing ring, LIVING that risk.

It's in Manny's sweat, in every fibre of his being - He goes out there and gives 100% per round every round.

Joe and Floyd are calculated risk takers - Highly skilled and each dominant in most of their fights - but come on - Manny has put it out there.

The amount of bull**** in response to Oscar's performance - Or lack of one - Is fair - But to slight Manny when many of the same posters were making STUPIDLY huge calls about how he was supposed to deal with ODLH - You all wear the egg on your face now like it was made of man clagg in a Japanese bukake film.

Everything about Pac's performance last night was pound for pound brilliance.

Calzaghe split a decision with Bernard and Floyd did with Oscar - Their two biggest name wins on their registers - Each admirable performances in their own right.

But Pac man did what neither of the above men did - Carried the battle to their man throughout the fight and pressed for the win with intent and leaving no doubt as to who the winner might be - You've all discussed a possible rematch of the first two - A rematch for Oscar would be cruel - No one is or will talk rematch of that fight.

Pacquiao is the best fighter of right now, pound for pound on the planet. Floyd might have more skill and Joe more wins - But neither in their heart of hearts have fire like Manny brings to the big show time and time again.

Many weighed 130 in January this year - None of you would even have considered a DLH fight let alone a victory - It's all well and good to try and shut the gate now that DLH is shot - But it was Pacquiao taking the gun out and firing that bullet.

Huge props to Manny and Freddie Roach - Who both could teach the Maywaethers and Calzaghes a thing or two about class as well with the way they handled both the lead up AND the victory.
