In your opinion, is one worse than the other, or are they really one and the same. Is filling the boards with repetitive threads regarding the one fighter, really constructive behaviour on ESB? Is going to ridiculous lengths to overate fighters, something that adds to the boards for all users? Is it funny when it is done repeatedly, over and over again? How does it differ to a so called troll, who simply promotes his own fighter with little regard for objectivity? People on these boards call guys like PacDBest, Johnco and GRapPBF etc etc nuthuggers and trolls.... Is their behaviour any different to Amsterdam and Co in recent times? Are they turning the boards into a mockery? Please list your thoughts, this thread is a serious one? Thanks.

Just wanted to make known that this isn't an attack on anyone, but a genuine thread expressing my concern. I opened up ESB today, and all I can see is Gamboa thread after Gamboa thread. IMO it's gone way too far, and needs to stop. A little bit is funny, a lot of it is just turning these boards into a total circus. Thats my opinion, like i said, very interested to hear everyone's thoughts!!!

I don't see that there is any difference in terms of how beneficial the attitudes are for the board. Both can be done intelligently though, and when that is the case they can be entertaining if not particularly illuminating. But I tend to ignore both regardless of the intelligence/excellence of the poster involved.

Fair enough, i agree it isn't as bad as pure hate for a fighter. Still at the same time, how often do these so called trolls hate another fighter. Most times, they are simply extremely biased when it comes to their favourite fighters.

There really isn't a difference IMHO. Being an elitist isn't any more honorable then being a troll. Both are just opinion to the extreme. Both think they're better then anyone else...

I don't feel they are one and the same. It's all natural to get excited about the propect of a given fighter. It's really what drives us as fans of this artform, is it not? Some hype is well fonded, and other is prematurely based, and then the worst kind; the bandwagoneering hype. I can do without the latter.

Trolling is an internet artform, which I appal, because it has no other function than to draw attention and create response.

Feeling great disliking towards a fighter is also quite natural, and I don't consider it in the same lines as trolling, but a troll quite often use popular or inpopular figures to make their statements, or hatred can be spewed in a trolling matter, which just shows a lack of communication ability.

All of the dumbass threads weren't created by me, though I did in fact provoke some of the behaviour and take full responsibility.

Normally I keep my fun threads to one thread here and there, I fear everyone else has caught on to how fun some of the overhyping technique's are and are running wild with it. Please don't compare by posting to utter ******s with no boxing knowledge.

Fair enough mate, to be honest i wasn't sure if this was something you had initiated or not. I actually think it is funny in small doses, but if everyone starts doing it back and forwards, i can see things things getting out of hand here, thats all.

Oh wow, I should have read this thread before I submitted one of the over-hyping of Gamboa. My apologies, but I thought it was funny at the time. Gamboa versus.... that would be the thread. Is trolling all these rediculous threads on Gamboa vs Ali, SRR, SRL, PBF, etc? Again, my apologies.

Don't stress, i'm just raising a point, you certainly weren't the only one. IMO, a lot of this comes back to needing an active moderator for this forum. Not to ban people always, but maybe tell them what is and isn't acceptable on the boards. That way copycat behaviour can be avoided, if that is what has happened here.

Amsterdams nuthuggin of Calzaghe eclipses anything by PacDBest, Johnco and GRapPBF by a long shot.
