Do you think JMM will be competitive against Hatton? Some fans get carried by JMM's good showing in his last 2 fights ignoring the facts that one opponent was 37 yrs old (and could be shot) while the other has very limited skills aside from relentlessness.

david diaz-he had to move up 1 weight class
oscar delahoya -he had to move up 2 weight class

Hell yea he would be. The only danger for JMM in a Hatton fight would be the first four rounds then after that i see JMM figuring him out and stopping him later on in the fight. Hatton gasses out late in the fight and JMM also has great body work to punish him specially when he rushes in.
Paulies jab was making Hattons head look like a bobble head doll. What do you think a JMM uppercut would do to Hatton.
As far as Casamayor. He had just come off a great victory stopping an undefeated strong brawler that was supposed to be the next big thing.
And to say Juan Diaz has limited skills is just ******ed....

I'm actually one of the few that would rather not see a third fight happen.....

Even without knockdowns, the fight is going to tilt in favor of the media favorite everytime.

JMM deserves to be respected in the terms of getting a big money fight......
Pacquiao will disrespect JMM by demanding he get 70+% of the purse.

I'd rather have Hatton wind up beating Pacquiao, which I believe will happen......and have JMM try to become the first Mexican ever to win 4 titles in different weight classes against a bonafide true 140 lbs star in Ricky Hatton.

If Hatton beats Pacquiao.....certainly it will be a tall order for JMM to try and be the first to beat Hatton at 140 lbs.......
.......but the way I look at it.....becoming the first Mexican to win titles in 4 different weight classes deserves a tall and not an easy order.

As a JMM fan I would savor and celebrate that tall accomplishment, and would'nt want it to come easy fighting against a 2nd tier paper champion to get it.

Nice to see you around Divac. So what did you think of the JMM fight???
What about the going up in weight?? Is it safe to assume that JMM's power increased with the weight??

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you here Saul.
I think you're underrating Hatton here based on his loss to a freak of nature in Mayweather Jr.

....unlike Mayweather, Pac and or JMM would come to fight and not to get into a hugfest vs Hatton......

Mayweather nulliied everything Hatton could do on the inside by just grasping Hatton left hand and preventing Hatton from using it as a weapon.
Then when the ref seperated them, of course Mayweather who was much quicker and faster, could get off a pot shot or two and aim to grasp on to Hatton's left hand once again.....

Neither Pac or JMM are grapplers.....so its going to be very interesting to me how either Pac or JMM is going to respond to Hatton's rough and tumble game on the inside.......
I really have no clue how Pac is going to respond.....my guess is that he's going to lose his head and overcommit to shots before Hatton can get to him on the inside.....thats going to be trouble for Pac because he's going to be exposing himself by going back to the old Pac style.....which I'm just about certain is not going to work against a bigger class fighter.

I would'nt make JMM the favorite vs Hatton, but I do believe he has a better skillset to counteract Hatton's strenghths than does Pacquiao.

We found out in the Juan Diaz fight that JMM can more than hold his own if he's forced to fight on the inside.
Those uppercuts of his would may very well make Hatton think twice about charging in like a bull with his head down......
.....and on the inside, again the Diaz fight, the footwork that JMM to gain the angle and shoot to the body, and then shoot the uppercuts to the head......

I just have'nt seen what Pacquiao could do if he was forced to have to respond and make it an inside game.

Hatton over Pacquiao. imo....and I hope next an historical night for JMM and his Mexican contingency, win, lose, or draw against Ricky Hatton.

Btw Pac fans, my intention is not to disrespect Pac, I'm sure he's going to give it everything he has, and like always, a valiant effort.

.....and quote me on this.....Pac legitly beats Hatton without any contorversy. Nothing but respect for that accomplishment will come from me.
I'm probably one of the few in this forum that considers Hatton an elite and a very dangerous fighter.

Scared seeing your boy in the canvas for the 5th and 6th time eh?

Media fav because he knocks down and dominates his oppenents eh?

Let's see..let say for $10M Pac gets $7M JMM gets $3M (70-30)..anyone he can fight for $3M? Oh, Moneyweather hmmm that's 100-0 he gets nothing eh?

Beat PAC? Hmmm he got 2 chances, had he done it?

hmmm but what if PAC becomes 6 time champ eh?

2ns tier? wasn't that JMM eh?

Look around here Saul......I'm all around these JMM-Diaz threads!:D

I dont know that JMM's power increased.....but I dont think that a 9 lbs increase from 126 lbs hindered it.....

Physically we found out from the Diaz onslaught that JMM was not to be easily manuevered and pushed around by a strong young lightweight providing unbelievable pressure......

We found out that JMM can body up a lightweight and more than hold his own without losing his head......

.....we have'nt found out those answers from Pac's fights with David Diaz and DLH......so its hard to gauge Pac's physical strenghth based on those fights.
