What is the fight schedule for live fights?

    Sorry if this is off-topic or whatever but I joined to see if anybody knows the answer to this question? I'm going to Las Vegas for my birthday and I'm a HUGE Ortiz fan. I got some tickets for me and my friends to the fight but when we got the tickets, it said the fight starts at 2:00pm. I guess there are probably like 50 fights on the undercard so how do I know what time the main event or maybe one or two fights before starts? Anybody know?

    Typically there are a few scheduled undercard fights and a "swing bout" on the card with only the televised portion of the card definitively scheduled.

    Your ticket covers all the fights and the undercards usually feature prospects in the promoter's stable, so get there early and enjoy the show.

    What's a swing bout? And do you know what time a main event starts if the undercard starts at 2pm? is there a way to tell? I don't wanna get there so early I'm watching people I don't know anything about but I don't wanna get there so late I miss the fight. I just wanna make sure I plan my birthday around like the last 2-3 fights so I have time to have fun with the girls.

    A swing bout will take place if an undercard fight or two ends early. The fighters typically sit in the locker room ready to go at a moment's notice. If the fight doesn't get a chance to take place before the main event, sometimes it goes on afterward.

    oh awesome. I'm learning so much stuff already. I've gotta be careful not to get addicted to this site, LOL.

    Do you think it would be OK if we showed up at like 7pm? Or is that too late?

    I dunno. The ticket doesn't say. It just says fights start at 2:00pm. I was hoping somebody who knows how the live fights work could tell me so I can plan everything out.

    I recommend you watch all the bouts. A lot of the times they bring more excitement than the actual televised fights. These guys are trying to make a name for themselves and want to prove themselves.

    The broadcast starts at 9 pm eastern. Leave yourself enough time to get into the building and find your seats. There is usually a dead time before the televised fights start, but if you get there 2 hours early, you should have time to see a couple of undercards.

    That's what my uncle was telling me (he's a HUGE boxing fan). But I'm celebrating my 25th birthday that day. No way are my friends going to want to sit there and watch boxing for 6 or 7 hours when we really just wanna see Ortiz. We've gotta go party too!

    We might not even be awake yet at 2pm LOL!!

    Oh awesome! So you think if the broadcast starts at 6pm that I will have time to watch a couple of fights and then Ortiz if I get there at 7pm? I wanted to book dinner with the girls and me first, then go to the fight, then go to my party after the fight.

    Just a heads up, but once you go in, you can't go back out and come back in again. So make sure you are ready to go in and be there until the end aiight.

    So it is 7 fights as of now. Do you mean 2 PM ET or PT? If it is PT then yes maybe. but if it's ET no way.
