This is a mediocre era, but it's not worse than the 1920s, 1940s, 1950s and 1980s. The only truly different and great eras are the 1960s, 1970s and 1990s.

In theory, Wlad can get to be #3 or #4 of all time IF he keeps defending his title for some more time. And if he retires undefeated.

Realistically, I think he could reach a place between #6 - #9. But his early loses limit him.

A loss would affect him, definitely, but let's remember Wlad is almost 37. If we counted past-prime loses, our rankings would be different.

Right now this is my list:

    1. Muhammad Ali
    2. Joe Louis
    3. Larry Holmes
    4. George Foreman
    5. Lennox Lewis
    6. Rocky Marciano
    7. Joe Frazier
    8. Sonny Liston
    9. Mike Tyson
    10. Wlad Klitschko

One factor won't let Wlad rank above Holmes: His loses against Sanders and Brewster. Holmes was undefeated until 1985.

Then, Wlad also won't rank above Lennox Lewis because quality of opposition (Ruddock, Mercer, Morrison, Golota, Tua, Holyfield, Klitschko).

And Wlad won't rank above Foreman, who KOed Frazier in two rounds and had the best or 2nd best comeback.

I can see him just outside the top ten . . . could get in the top ten if he has a career defining fight or two but I just do not see it given the current state of the division.

If he had beaten Sanders and then gone on to best Lewis I would have him top 9-12 as a successor to Lennox. Right now he is sitting just 10-15 spot. I acknowledge he has dominated this era but a few losses in his prime to non-ATG competition has hurt his legacy in my eyes.

I'd say right now he's probably close to top 10. Anywhere from say 10-15 seems about right. As to where he can go from here, well baring a big time KO loss, I'd say he might make it to 7 or 8. I simply can't really imagine him making it past that given his comp and his losses. Ali, Louis, Holmes, Lewis, Marciano, Foreman, Frazier would be in my view hard to by-pass. So while I voted top 5-10 I really wished this could have been broken down a bit more, because I think 7-8 is about the best he can get to.

Top 3 easy. It cracks me up when people rate Foreman ahead of Wlad. How many title defenses did Foreman have again? So he did knock out Frasier, big deal. Rahman knocked out Lewis. Where does he rank?

er, Lewis wrecked Rahman in the rematch. Frazier was torn up for life after Foreman and Ali.

    why are you so naive.

Wlad may yet become an ATG but hes got to become a HOFer first.

He'll probably end up at around 5-10 on any serious list.

Towards the tail end of the top 10 is where I expect him to end up if he dominates another five years or so (which he really should). He just doesn't have the great names on his resume to crack the top 5.

That logic makes zero sense. From their point of view and FROM your ******ed point of view.

Sanders Brewster AND Purrity knocked out Wlad. Where do they rank?

That guy who said Foreman knocked out Frazier was just using it as one of George's many achievements, obviously that's not ALL he did.
What Foreman did to Frazier would be if Wladimir knocked out a Prime Evander Holyfield twice, back to back.

Yes Wlad don't have the chance to do that, but to say that Foreman knocking out Frazier twice is 'no big deal' shows your extreme bias and ignorance.

Man get out of my Godly Thread. I should ban you from them.

No chance Wlad equals Louis, Ali, Lennox, Marciano, Holmes achievements.

Right now he`s just around Frasier and Liston, IMO, once he fights Povetkin he is past these 2.

He has a chance to surpass Holyfield, Jack Johnson, Foreman and Tyson, but it`s gonna take several fights against top opposition to get there.

He's my number 10 atm. In theory if he continues to dominate for say another 8 years he can work his way to number 1.
