No better you say. Way off. Povetkin is Wlad's best defense in years, and he fighting in his home country with Putin watching.

This is the biggest HW fight since Lewis vs Holy. This fight is huge. The definitive fight of this era. To see it any other way would show you to have some sort if weird agenda.

It took a record payday for Povetkin to take this fight. If Povetkin was American or Brittish many posters would view the fight differently!

Speaking of viewing I read the fight is being broadcast in 150 nations. This is the Super Bowl of boxing in some parts of the world.

    no it isn't
the historical significance revolves around if the $$$ to make this fight is going to result in a stinkout decision

Not much. There's no buzz or anticipation for it. Mostly flying under the radar. I can't even get anybody to watch it with me down the pub and the place was stacked for Mayweather Canelo.

Ok fella which was the more significant fight since then? Chagaev vs Valuev, Wlad vs Haye, Wlad vs Chagaev, Vitali Sanders, Wlad vs Ibragimov or Byrd Wlad.
The Povetkin Wlad super fight is clearly a level above all of those with everything on the line.

Far bigger. Besides due to style match up Haye stood almost zero chance of beating Wlad. If I was to pick a style of fighter to beat Wlad it must certainly wouldn't be a back foot outside fighter with perhaps the lowest punch output in the history of high level hw boxing. Wlad winning that fight on points was an easy pick for me speaking as someone who's boxed at a certain level.

    You nailed it!

Povetkin does not move as fast as Haye, nor hit as hard, I will be very surprised if he does much better in this fight.

As Wlad is very cautious and does not go for the ko until he has softened up his opponent .

I predict a mid to late rounds ko for Wlad. Nothing earth shattering about the match at all imo.

its significance is that its the first time the heavyweight title is being defended legit in a while.

In years to come, people all over the word will ask where you were the night Klitschko fought Povetkin.

Wlad vs Haye was way bigger. I watched that in a big packed out sporting bar that probably never showed boxing before.
