I see no mention of the actual injury...
    Was it a hand injury?
    A cut?
    Was he just hearing footsteps?

Everyone is fine with an undisclosed injury, nothing else to see here?

Ohashi boxing gym chairman Hideyuki Ohashi stated at a press conference Inoue hurt his fist after sparring on March 9. Following a detailed examination, there was no abnormality in the bone, but inflammation was found in the tendon. The pain did not subside by March 16, and Ohashi made the decision to postpone the fight.

On May 16, Inoue’s team approached Fulton’s team about a postponement, and Fulton’s team accepted on May 21.

They both want the fight, and this is an extremely big "fans of the sport" fight, so I don't think there's any skullduggery. Inoue definitely seems an honorable type professional, so it sucks but it happens, he deserves to be 100% for probably his biggest fight.

Inoue was celebrating Japan's win of the US in the World Baseball Classic. Punched the TV and broke a bone. Sad.

The fight was postponed, not cancelled. If the fight were off more people would be asking questions.
