Answer=Peter Oboh 2007. Who pulled out of his British title fight with Tony Oakey minutes before the fight was due to start. Oakey was even in the process of warming up in his dressing room. Fortunately SKY caught the whole thing on camera. It was amazing. Promoter, Frank Maloney and British Boxing Board of Control man Simon Block were beside themselves with frustration!!
Somewhere between the two Victor Galindez-Mike Rossman fights in 78-79, there was a schedueled fight between the two that was to be broadcast on ABC's Wide World of Sports.I tuned in to see an empty ring and hear the shrill voice of Howard Cosell explaining how Galindez bowed out just hours before because one of the Alphabet Orginizations was pulling recognition of the winner as champion.
I think Andrew 6 Heads Lewis was in the middle of his fight with Denny Dalton, when he had to suddenly go take a Dump (so he says). He didnt' answer the bell for the 7th round. This is what I heard, so dont quote me. That's kinda like pulling out of the fight yes for a reason beyong scared, wanting to quit cause of a beating, mind not there...etc. really doesn't qualify per the title of the thread but still relavent.
The answer has to against Tommy Morrison, an opponent didnt show up to the fight. Morrison fought a pro boxer who was taken out of the crowd and filled in.
