What Is The Logic To Pac/Arum Refusing to Take Blood Within 24 Days of The Fight?

Bob Arum, “I made the biggest mistake on this,” Arum said. “I tried to appease a guy and a camp that cannot be appeased. It was like when (British Prime Minister) Neville Chamberlain (no relation to Wilt The Stilt, albeit a better foul shooter) tried to appease Adolph Hitler. You give something, they ask for more.”

Arum said the opposition knew that would no further than offering a 24 day before blood test of Megamanny
along with the previously agreed to postfight locker room blood drawing.

“I tried to appease this little egomaniac and it was a mistake. I should not have done that from the beginning. I should have said you take your list of demands on testing, you go before the Nevada commission and see what they say. I should’ve told them go to Nevada and make these requests on your own.”

Arum said that, if the Big Bout talks resume “in the second half” of 2010, that is how he will handle Mayweather testing demands. He will only agree to follow Nevada rules and regulations, nothing more.

Arum does not deny that Richie Rich Schaefer of Golden Boy, the appointed Maywerather rep along with close to the best adviser Al Haymon, did end up with a two weeks out preflight test demand.

“It’s true, it’s true,” Arum said. “But they knew full well that we would not go for that. I think the real mistake was mine in not saying, “Sign the bout contract, then take your test requirements to the athletic commission.’ I should have said that and, if he signed the contract, I could’ve said go the commission and don’t bother me with this bullspit.”

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

Again, with the confusion, inconsistency, and contradictions from Team Pac, they deserve all the fire that gets tossed their way with riod accusations. Pac can call Floyd a coward and say he'll test for blood any time as long as it isn't within 3 days. And Arum can say we agree to a blood test, just not by Olympic. However he won't ask "Nevada to do testing." Then what the hell is the point of agreeing in a blood test when you clearly don't agree with a blood test.

Arum, Top Rank, and Team Pac have fumbled and really ****ed up these negotiations. The way they handled it was just awful. Why 24 days is okay, but not 14 days. This is one big ego, powertrip from both sides. It's not about boxing or the fans... ****ing agreeing to a blood test but arguing over a cutoff that WILL HAVE ZERO EFFECT ON PAC. So why agree to 24 and not 14? It's all ****ing bull****. They don't want a blood test, but they got stuck saying they would agree to do one. Then they reverted to having do whatever "Nevada" does. As if Nevada would undermine their own testing, indicating it was insufficient.

Late me reiterate what I've said a long time ago. Floyd, Schaefer, GBP blow dick too. Floyd and his ridiculous ****ing demands doesn't help. But that's been a long time ago. Arum and Team Pac fumbled. They contradicted, changed their mind. They just haven't handled negotiations well. At least Floyd and his team was quiet, and not trying to smear and when the battle of the press.

If the fight is to happen in 2010. There will be no blood test. Mark my words. If they can't agree on that, then it's over.

But to bull**** about 24 to 14 days. As if that's really the problems. It's posturing. Floyd sucks, Arum sucks, Pac sucks, and so does Schaefer. Arum really is a lieing scumbag though.

Arum doesn't want it to happen.

He'd prefer Pacquiao to fight another Top Rank fighter. I think both camps also aren't too crazy about the March 13th date and would prefer to milk this ****, and fight later in the year.

    ****ing *******s.

Really simple... Pac doesn't feel great about giving Blood. So, why would he want to give himself any type of mental disadvantage leading into this fight? I think offering 3 different blood tests as well as **** tests every day is WELL above and beyond what is necessary. What is wrong with before the kick-off press conference... 30 days before the fight... and directly after the fight? Hell... directly after the fight should be enough as it is. You have to realize that getting that blood taken from you also takes away from your training... and 30 days out from a fight and in is a pretty damn important part of your training.

I have a much better question...

Why does this fight have to have different testing than any other fight in the history of boxing?

Since when in the history of Professional boxing does one boxer demand blood be sucked out of his opponent multiple times during the training and preparation of their fight? The **** is ridiculous to be honest.

There is no logic for asking for the blood tests. There is no logic in not agreeing to provide a test 14 days out. There is no reason why these two asshats couldn't find a way to fight each other and... oh by the way, make 40 million dollars each.

Both of these guys are wrong and both of them can eat a pile of horse ****.

I agree with that. I think Floyd wants more time to promote. I think though with all the drama that maybe they wonder if they need much time. This whole fight has been hitting news left and right. But who knows what they're thinking.

But where's the logic. Agreeing to a 24 day cutoff date and not 14 day one. Can someone explain that to me? Is it an ego power-trip thing?

Maybe Pac wanted this fight. He claimed he did badly. Arum just didn't back Pac's actions to put through this. He just stalled his way out of it. And for what. Some 10 day disagreement? Or "Agreeing to blood-test but not forcing Nevada to do anything." It's BS

    I agree... but

We are way past the testing. Floyd gave up Olympic long ago. So Arum conceded 24 days. Floyd said 14 days was fair. Wtf... what's the logic and saying yes to 24 days and not 14 days?

Just the sheer matter of respect has to annoy the **** out of Pac. That Floyd thinks that he has that much control that he can force Pac to give blood and completely change the testing policies for the commission. This doesn't make Pac look bad... this makes Floyd look like he is asking for things that he knows Pac won't agree to... that way the fight don't happen and Floyd tries to save face.

What's the logic between demanding 14 days and not agreeing to 24?

Dude, get ****ing real. A blood test 24 days, or even 14 days from the fight isn't going to be any mental edge disadvantage. Pac said he would be willing to take a test as long as it wasn't within 3 days of the fight. Roach said he was fine with anything outside 5 days. Obviously you've been duped by Arum's stupidity.

I have a much better question...

It doesn't, but we're past that. Hence negotiations. It's come down to 24 days or 14 days. What's the difference to Team Pac. What disadvantage is there between the two. Explain that to me if you can. Anyone...

    You won't be able to.

By the way. Tyson asked Holyfield to take a steroid test or something I believe. It has been done.

arum dosent feel hes squeezed enough money out of manny yet, so hes not yet willing to put him in the ring against some one who can beat him (we all know clotteys will be more of the same ol same ol) once arum feels mannys on his way down then maybe the mega fight with floyd will take place, look at history he did the same thing with cotto

To increase the probability of catching Manny juicing within his training camp.

Or to stop whatever PED use he can do while training (Due to a shorter cutoff date).

Whether those 10 days will help that much. It does have a logical purpose, FOR Mayweather and his team at least.

No difference for Pac or Arum other than just some ego trip. Pac and Roach statements have affirmed they would be fine with this. I don't see how this will make any difference fight night.

I think Clottey's a fairly big risk to Pacquiao with his size, skills, and style.

Knowing Clottey though. he'll have a good start, then throw 5 punches a round for the 2nd half of the fight, lose a close decision, and then cry about it.

It's really simple to me and Floyd IS IN FACT demanding that the testing be different than any fight in the history of boxing. That is a complete ***** move.

I can give you a really simple reason why 14 days i a lot different than 24.

Many fighters are finishing the final preparations for the fight, so that they can wind down the week of the fight. So... Freddie has already said himself that Manny doesn't feel right for 3 or 4 days after giving blood. So, basically you would be having a situation where Pac is just finishing the most important part of his training while he has just given blood and doesn't feel at his best. So... he isn't finishing his training strong... and he goes into his winding/cooling down faze of his training having just had a bad finish to his training camp and not feeling at his best.

Why would he do that? Why doesn't Floyd stop finding ridiculous ways to stop this fight from happening and just get into the ring and fight?

I think you may be right. Arum is trying to be the new Don king.
