Do you think stamina=toughness? I believe they're about equally important.

Nope I rate stamina above toughness. I've seen tough as nails fighters gas and its all over.

You mean you haven't seen guys with great stamina broken down by accumulation punishment cause of their lack of toughness? :think

Stamina, without it the others are useless stamina is the most important thing for most athletes.

In the lower weights its speed and skills. The better / faster boxer is going to win here for the most part, unless there is a style mismatch.

    At heavyweight is chin 1st.

Not necessarily, one could be broken down as soon as the 5th or 6th round, if the opponent deals much punishment.

Stamina wouldn't help there at all, if one isn't tough, eh? ;)

Wlad - and many other chinless heavyweight champs - would seem to prove otherwise.

At heaveyweight if you get nailed you are going down, chin or no chin.

With enough stamina you could get on your bike to avoid the punishment, no?

A chin, and stamina. Without half a decent chin, and stamina you're in trouble - there is nothing to build on.

Unless you can blast them out of there like Haye. :D

Not necassarily, one could have great stamina, but poor defense (reactions, speed etc.). Without good defense he would have to have toughness, if he didn't have that too he would get punishment. :deal
