Interesting that, when I first saw the thread, this was the first fight that came to my mind.

It's pretty much overlooked that Jose Torres put an awful, sustained, vicious beating on my man Willie Pastrano to win the lightheavy crown..granted Williw was a spent force by then, but it was qquite a beating even before that left to the liver found it's mark in the 6th. Willie didn't know how just how bad he was hurt and endured two more rounds of punishment before the 9th round tko.

Carnera-Baer (a savage beating but not as bad as what Dempsey did to Willard)
    Holmes-Cobb
    Mancini-Kim

damn there were a lot of brutal fights from 1978-1983 or so.......

I seem to recall Old Man George Foreman brutalizing Pierre Coetzer pretty bad.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the Great White Hope from the 70's. Poor Duane Bobick became a national joke with his shellacking at the hands of Ken Norton. The fight lasted what...50 seconds?

Duane was later destroyed in about the same time frame by John Tate. Between the 2 fights, Duane didn't even put in 1 full round of work.
