The result of this fight is meaningless, and it won't even be a good fight. Jones will be gunshy and Hopkins will look to counterpunch. They'll make faces and do a lot of feinting, but it'll be a defensive waltz.
But since people buy these nostalgic gropings, they will continue.

It's still a fight that Hopkins can win and it might give him a little bit of extra money in the process. The only guy out there to fight would be Dawson and he won't fight Dawson.

Congradulations if you wanna see it. Just stop crying when people don't agree with you. It's obviously money because RJ is done. Nothing left for him to prove. Money aside, why else would he want to fight a fighter he beat almost 20years ago and had been ignoring for so long to give him a rematch and all of a sudden he is interested? Even if the loss to Green was questionable he is done. You guys simply can't handle the truth.

The point is entertainment, baby! I'm thrilled for this fight. It'll be an event. It'll be a reason for me and my friends to get together, drink some beer and just have some good clean fun. The fighters are names we recognize; it's a grudge match 17 years in the making; it's the world's greatest sport. Those are the reasons I'm intersted and that's good enough for me and my $49.95!

It will quite possibly be the most pointless sporting event in the history of sports.

Hopkins could have made more money fighting green in Australia, he's frail mentally and Green would have destroyed him here!

This. A good payday and I think Hopkins just wants revenge or if not revenge, just to show Jones that the tables have turned now, and while at the start of their careers Jones was the man, Hopkins has finished the better fighter. I'd say it's a combination of pride and money, but yeah, apart from that it makes no sense considering Jones' recent performances i.e. not even competetive against Calzaghe and then being Ko'ed in the 1st by Green.

The fight is a farce. It will not sell for ****. This fight will however put an end to the 'myth' and 'mystique' of Roy Jones Jr.

Because both Hopkins and Jones Jr. will be skipping to the bank after they are paid a pretty penny for doing nothing but remind boxing fans that they are idiots for believing this was going to be a good fight.
