What is the single most effective and/or devastating weapon in MMA today?

I think Machida is the only person so far to receive a bad cut from a Jones elbow. They are usually just crushingly powerful, more than cutting. Florian tries to cut with elbows; Jones tries to knock you out.

There is no way to prove what caused that cut (elbows are likely, but there were many punches thrown in that sequence as well), and it certainly wouldn't have been a fight ending cut anyway.

 

The Bones Jones elbow certainly DID end that fight, it completely messed up Matt's face

They did end the fight, obviously. But not because of cuts. People argue against elbows because they cause cuts, not because they end fights.
